It's called "Crimson Gospels". By most accounts, it's a little collection of trashy horror stories: not even a Dollar Store Barker, more like Dollar Store Ballingrud. It's been out of print for decades but isn't of much interest to the collectors. All in all, unremarkable pulp.

Some, however, tell a different story. That it's not just any old book, that it has power. That it can show its reader a myriad joys and sensations, and even open the way to experiences beyond humane. This, of course, is nonsense. It's just an old book. Not even particularly good one. Books are just words on paper.

Then why do you get the shivers as you look at it, lying on your table? Did you get it in spite of the rumours? Because of the rumours? Or were you just looking for some trashy fun? Either way, it's there. Open it. Give it a read. Convince yourself that the woman on the cover doesn't look directly at you.
