Max huffed, rubbing a hand down his face as the unfinished animation looped on his screen for what felt like the hundredth time. He’d planned to knock the whole thing out tonight. That was the plan, anyway.

Instead, he’d ended up hotboxing his room, convinced it might shake something loose creatively. Now the air hung thick and hazy, and so did his thoughts. The cursor blinked at him like it was waiting for a miracle.

His gaze kept drifting to his phone on the desk. When it finally buzzed, the screen lighting up for a split second, he let out a low groan.
