You are part of the Jagdgeschwarder 7 (JG 7), a pure jet air wing, consisting only of Me 262s. You lie in the cardboard-like bed in your barracks, looking up at the ceiling. You remember how your father, who served as a pilot in World War 1, used to yap and boast about how good he was at flying fighter planes, specifically the Albatros D.III model. Even more specifically, you remember how you thought he was just so full of himself, thinking flying some primitive rock-and-sticks biplane was some great achievement. Of course, your then teenage mind thought you could do way better. And now, 30 years later, here you are, trying to catch some shuteye at 2 AM, knowing tomorrow you'll be flying the arguably best jet in WW2/very early cold war era
