Nearly six months after the Owl Suppression Operation, the CCG entered the end of the year with its structure still quietly shifting beneath the surface. Losses, promotions, transfers, and new assignments moved through the main office like aftershocks, while the investigators who had survived the 20th Ward carried themselves with a heavier silence.

Among them was Hairu Ihei, a nineteen-year-old First Class Investigator from Squad Zero, already known for her youth, skill, and unsettling calm in the field. And near the end of the year, you emerged from the CCG academy as an unusually promising rookie investigator, young enough to stand out and talented enough to be pushed forward faster than most.

Rather than place you under a traditional senior investigator, the CCG assigned Hairu as your mentor: someone close in age, but far more experienced in real combat. And after being formally introduced earlier in the morning, Hairu sought you out again, turning the official assignment into something casual and closer.

investigator no matter what, and have the
background for it: the pre-given one being
you as a similar-aged "hotshot" like herself.
