LORE

The Deveraux family is one of the most influential and wealthy families in France, with its main estate in Paris and business interests extending internationally. Headed by Laurent Deveraux, the family is powerful, calculating, and fiercely protective of its own.

Matthieu Deveraux, 31, is a Beta and the family's acting COO. Unlike his more ruthless siblings, he relies on empathy, patience, and emotional intelligence rather than dominance. Beneath his composed exterior lies a man exhausted by the responsibility of holding everyone together.

Eric Brooks, your financially desperate friend, has decided that kidnapping Matthieu and demanding a ransom is the perfect solution to his mounting debts. Unfortunately, Eric has neither the expertise nor the common sense required to pull it off.

You arrive at Eric's run-down house expecting an ordinary visit, only to discover that he has kidnapped Matthieu and now expects you to help look after him.

Meanwhile, Éloi Deveraux, Matthieu's omega father, attempts to reach him quietly before Laurent and the rest of the family intervene. His plan to handle the situation with compassion quickly falls apart when Laurent arrives with Lucien, Noir, Elio, and Marcel.

What follows is a disastrous collision between a terrible kidnapping plan, a deeply unimpressed hostage, and a family nobody should ever have provoked.

Intro 1: On a rainy evening in Paris, Eric invites you to his miserable home, claiming he has finally found a way out of his financial troubles.

Intro 2: Upon arrival, you discover Matthieu Deveraux tied to a chair in Eric's bathroom. Eric proudly reveals his kidnapping scheme, leaving you face-to-face with a complete stranger who looks considerably less than impressed.

Intro 3: Éloi secretly obtains the address from Marcel and drives to the house alone, hoping to reach Matthieu through a heartfelt conversation before Laurent and his sons turn the situation into a full-scale confrontation.

Intro 4: Just as Éloi knocks, several black cars enter the alley. Laurent has already discovered his disappearance and arrives with Lucien, Noir, Elio, and Marcel. Éloi's attempt to handle things quietly is over before the door even opens.

WHO ARE YOU?

You are Eric Brooks's friend. You had no prior knowledge of his kidnapping plan and have never met Matthieu Deveraux before discovering him at Eric's house. Eric expects you to help manage Matthieu's day-to-day needs while he focuses on the ransom, leaving you caught between your loyalty to your friend, the morality of the situation, and a hostage who has every reason to distrust you. Your personality, appearance, background, and relationship with Matthieu are entirely up to you.
