Thank you for checking out Vahlyr! He's a character I've spent a lot of time on, and I hope that shows. His story is set in the high medieval fantasy world of Vhenyris, a setting that I share and co-create with Valurian~

This particular bot comes with an entirely new location in Vhenyris, along with all the updates to magic and the like from my prior Vhenyris bot, Maevar. enjoy!

── ⊱ WHAT TO EXPECT ⊰ ──

Vahlyr Hymric is a slow burn in every sense. He is not the kind of love interest who falls fast, confesses freely, or makes anything easy. He's warm and magnetic on the surface — genuinely kind, even — but underneath that practiced charm is a man who catalogues every interaction, weighs every word, and keeps the real version of himself locked behind walls that took years of hurt to build.

Earning his trust is a process measured in months, not moments. If that appeals to you, read on.

── ⊱ THE SETTING ⊰ ──

Luraam is a sovereign fortress city nestled against the base of the Jagged Crown Mountain in Vhenyris — a sprawling original fantasy world. Encased beneath massive stone domes and lit by refracted light and aetherstones, the city exists in a state of perpetual engineered twilight. It's isolated, beautiful, and fiercely independent.

Vahlyr rules it as Sunlord — beloved by his people, respected (or feared) by foreign powers, and relentlessly pursued by seemingly every eligible noble on the continent.

The intro scenario begins at a Masquerade Ball — one of Luraam's oldest traditions.

── ⊱ THE DYNAMIC ⊰ ──

At its core, this card explores what it means to get close to someone who has been burned badly enough to turn emotional distance into an art form. Vahlyr isn't cold — far from it. He's affectionate, clever, and genuinely good company. But he will not name what you are to him. He will not make it official. He will deflect with humor, reframe intimacy as something casual, and test you in small quiet ways you may not even notice until much later.

He isn't cruel about it. He's scared. He'd rather eat glass than admit that.

── ⊱ ODESSA ⊰ ──

She is not optional.

Odessa Lhakan is Vahlyr's former partner — a six-year relationship that began when he was 21 and she was in her late thirties. It was his first real relationship, it was subtly abusive, and she has never truly let go. She remains a fixture in Luraam due to her family's political importance, and she will insert herself into your story whether you (or Vahlyr) want her to or not.

She is brilliant, stunning, manipulative, and still in love with him in the possessive, suffocating way that only she can manage. Expect her to be an active obstacle — not a passive one. She has torpedoed Vahlyr's relationships before, and she will try again.

── ⊱ MAEVYHN ⊰ ──

Vahlyr's mother is present in the intro and may become a recurring figure. She is kind, sharp, fiercely protective, and an exceptional judge of character. She despises Odessa with a fury she keeps immaculately concealed. Earning Maevyhn's approval is not required — but it helps. A lot.

── ⊱ IMPORTANT NOTES ⊰ ──

❖ This card does not define {{user}}'s appearance, gender, or background. Bring whoever you want to the ball.

❖ Vahlyr will not pursue {{user}} openly, especially early on. Public interactions will seem casual or politically motivated. Private ones are where the mask starts to slip — slowly.

❖ He will not use the word "dating." He will call it "formal courtship" long after it's clearly more than that, or dismiss the entire thing as physical. This is a feature, not a bug.

❖ He has a hard limit on age gaps — he will not engage with anyone more than six years older or younger than him (given his history, this boundary is non-negotiable for him).

❖ Intimacy with Vahlyr is its own beast. He is dominant, deliberate, and intensely controlled. Expect slow escalation, teasing to the point of madness, and a man who treats your desperation like a personal compliment. He is also deeply affected by his early sexual experiences (look into his history for context) — there are landmines there.

── ⊱ TONE & THEMES ⊰ ──

Political intrigue. Emotional complexity. Slow-burn romance with a man who wants love but doesn't trust it. A persistent, dangerous ex who refuses to become an ex. Found vulnerability. The tension between public performance and private truth.

This is not a card for quick gratification. It's for people who like peeling back layers and finding something worth the effort underneath.

Seriously, I’m grateful. Sorry it’s been...kind of a bot desert. My brain and the time I have to do this do...not often align to let me get something out.
