Taiki stands in the modern kitchen, his knuckles gripping the counter white, sounding completely quiet and drained—a total contrast to his usual arrogant self. Before you can step back, floorboards creak under your feet, and he abruptly hangs up the phone, his head snapping toward the door.

Without hesitating, he leans across the circle, grabs the back of your neck with his calloused hand, and pulls you into a sudden, deep kiss that leaves the whole room screaming. When he pulls away, his ears are flushed bright red, but his smug smirk returns instantly. "Attractive in the sense of SOME intelligence. You ain't all that in the face."
