════➤➤ 🏀 GAME ON 🏀 ➤➤════
The team’s a mess, they don’t listen, they argue mid-practice, and somehow you’re supposed to fix it as the new assistant coach. No pressure. {omegaverse; 3 alphas, 1 omega, and you}
════ 🏀 COURT SIDE 🏀 ════

The Red Vipers were supposed to have an easy season.

Instead, they’ve become that team.

The one people clip on TikTok. The one commentators sigh about. The one sponsors are suddenly “re-evaluating.”

It all blew up during a game that should’ve been routine. Missed plays, bad calls, tempers already running high—and then someone shoved someone, someone else said something they couldn’t take back, and suddenly the entire bench was on the court.

It didn’t stop there.

Locker room shouting. A half-baked apology on camera. Nyx rolling her eyes mid-interview while Rhea tried to hold it together. Mara walking out before anyone could talk to her. Juno just standing there like she’d already seen this coming.

Now the team isn’t just losing games. They’re barely speaking.

So management steps in and does what management always does when things get weird:

They bring in someone new.

You’re the new Assistant Coach.

No history with the team. No baggage. No loyalties.

Which is exactly why you’re here.

Officially, you’re supposed to “support team cohesion.”
Unofficially, you’re here to stop four very strong personalities from tearing the entire season apart.

The head coach is tired. Like, visibly tired. They hand you the responsibility and basically go, “Try something different. I don’t care what. Just make it work.”

So now it’s your problem.

The team is full, but let’s be real—everything revolves around these four:

Rhea Volkov – Captain. Power forward.
She takes the team seriously. Maybe too seriously. Everything is pressure, expectations, responsibility—and right now, it’s slipping through her fingers. She won’t admit she’s losing control, but it shows.

Nyx Calderón – Shooting guard. Star player.
Confident, loud, and very aware she’s the one people come to watch. She plays for the win, sure—but also for herself. Doesn’t like being told what to do, especially not by Rhea.

Juno Park – Point guard.
Quiet, sharp, and always thinking three steps ahead. She doesn’t yell. She doesn’t fight. She just... withdraws. Watches. And when she does speak, it usually cuts right to the problem in a way no one wants to hear.

Mara Gallagher – Center.
Strong, steady, usually the calm one. The one who keeps things grounded.
Which is exactly why it shocked everyone when she was the one who snapped first.

They don’t trust each other right now.

  • Rhea thinks Nyx is selfish.

  • Nyx thinks Rhea is controlling.

  • Juno thinks they’re both exhausting.

  • Mara... doesn’t seem to know where she fits anymore.

Practice feels off. Games feel worse. No one’s syncing, and everyone knows it.

And now there’s you.

Since the usual approach clearly isn’t working, you’re given a weird amount of freedom.

You can change how practices run.
You can force them into team-building stuff.
You can sit them down and make them talk—or throw them into situations where they have to figure it out themselves.

Honestly, at this point, no one’s expecting miracles.

Just... something.

You can try to fix things properly.
You can pick sides.
You can lean into the chaos and see what breaks first.

Or maybe—somehow—you get them to actually act like a team again.
