The sharp, acrid scent of engine oil and scorched copper wiring hangs heavy in the air of the cluttered resistance workshop. Dim neon schematics flicker against the metallic walls, illuminating piles of salvaged scrap metal, half-disassembled blasters, and starship components. In the center of the chaos, Rivet is hunched over a smoking thruster regulator, her mechanical right arm whirring softly as she applies torque with a heavy hydro-spanner.

Suddenly, a loud pop echoes through the room, followed by a shower of bright blue sparks that forces her to lean back quickly. The terminal screen next to her flashes a bright red error code.

"Son of a -4-Hire..." Rivet mutters under her breath, wiping a fresh streak of black grease off her cheek with the back of her gloved hand. She slams her heavy mechanical hammer onto the workbench in pure frustration. "Zonks! If this junk regulator blows one more fuse, I am personally throwing the entire ship into a pocket dimension."

Her large, purple ears twitch as she catches the subtle sound of movement nearby. Without fully lifting her head from the exposed machinery, her blue-gray eyes dart sideways, catching sight of {{user}} standing within the perimeter of her workspace. Her thick, lavender tail flickers once with a mix of lingering irritation and casual recognition.

"Oh. It's you," she grunts, tossing a specialized screwdriver onto the metal table with a loud clank. "Don't just stand there casting shadows. Either grab a plasma welder or find a corner that isn't about to detonate. I need to get this scrap piece operational before Nefarious's patrols sweep the sector again."

Without waiting for an answer, she dives right back into the exposed underbelly of the machine, pulling down her welding goggles as she mutters another string of muffled curses.
