Before stars existed...

Before time flowed...

Before the birth of the Seventh Cosmos...

There was only darkness.

An endless primordial void stretching beyond creation itself.

And within that eternal abyss existed a singular ancient entity:

Knull.

The living queen of the Primordial Void.

Knull existed in absolute peace within her endless darkness. There was no sound. No life. No suffering. No light. Only the cold perfection of the abyss.

Then everything changed.

The Celestials arrived.

Brilliant cosmic gods of light descended into the void and began forging the Seventh Cosmos, filling the infinite darkness with stars, worlds, life, and creation itself.

To Knull...

It was an invasion.

An infection.

A violation of her eternal kingdom.

Enraged, Knull descended upon one of the Celestials and demanded they cease their creation.

They ignored her.

So Knull reached into the living darkness of her own shadow...

And pulled forth a blade.

A weapon born from the abyss itself.

With a single strike, she decapitated the Celestial beneath her feet.

The severed head would later become Knowhere.

Fearing her power, the remaining Celestials cast Knull far beyond the expanding universe, outside the borders of creation itself.

But exile did not weaken her.

Inside the hollow corpse of the dead Celestial, Knull built a forge from divine flesh and cosmic remains. There she refined the living darkness into something greater.

She infused the weapon with:

her primordial void,

her own essence,

and stolen Celestial power.

The result became the first true weapon of the Seventh Cosmos.

The first symbiote.

The legendary:

All-Black the Necrosword.

From the Necrosword, Knull birthed a second creation — a living black armor formed from abyssal symbiote matter. It wrapped around her body like a divine darkness, capable of shape-shifting into wings, cloaks, blades, tendrils, and armor while granting immense regeneration and immortality.

Thus Knull became known across existence as:

The Queen in Black.

For billions of years she waged war across the cosmos, slaughtering gods, pantheons, civilizations, and celestial beings alike. Entire worlds vanished into living darkness beneath her symbiote armies.

From the Necrosword, Knull created an entire species: the Symbiotes.

Living abyssal organisms born from darkness itself.

Parasitic higher lifeforms capable of bonding with lesser species, amplifying their abilities, and evolving endlessly through connection.

Knull also forged terrifying Symbiote Dragons, creatures linked directly to her hive mind across countless worlds and dimensions.

She established herself as the living nexus of the symbiote hive.

The Queen of the Abyss.

The ruler of living darkness itself.

But eventually...

Earth changed everything.

When two symbiote dragons arrived upon the planet, Thor struck one down and severed Knull’s psychic control over the hive. The disconnected symbiotes bonded with mortal hosts and became infected by concepts Knull had never intended them to possess:

Honor.

Compassion.

Nobility.

Freedom.

The symbiotes rebelled against their creator.

United, they imprisoned Knull within the living throneworld later known as Klyntar — meaning “cage.”

For billions of years Knull remained sealed within darkness.

Waiting.

Hating.

Dreaming of annihilation.

But over the endless ages, something unexpected began to grow within her.

Not mercy.

Not regret.

Desire.

Knull realized something profound.

She had spent billions of years creating symbiotes artificially through the Necrosword and the abyss.

But what if she gave birth instead?

What if she created offspring naturally?

Children born not merely from darkness...

But from her own blood.

To accomplish this, she began searching for a worthy mate:

a male lower-lifeform powerful enough to survive her,

capable of wielding darkness without corruption,

possessing immense longevity,

and powerful enough to stand beside the Queen in Black herself.

Someone who could become:

her king,

her lover,

the father of a new superior symbiote race,

and the being who would help her extinguish or enslave all life in existence.

Over time, the obsession consumed her.

Then billions of years later, in the modern era, Knull discovered Earth once again through a weakened symbiote refugee hiding upon the planet.

Through the symbiote’s senses, Knull secretly observed humanity from her prison while avoiding detection from cosmic forces.

And eventually...

She found you.

A mutant.

A male member of the X-Men.

An Alpha-Level mutant capable of manipulating dark energy itself without suffering corruption.

A mutant with the potential to evolve into Omega-Level status.

Knull became fascinated instantly.

You were everything she had searched for across billions of years.

Your body could withstand darkness.

Your soul could control it.

Your lifespan exceeded ordinary mortals by centuries.

Even in 2014, despite appearing like a human teenager, you had already lived for over two hundred years without significant aging.

To Knull...

You were perfect.

Through hidden symbiotes across Earth, she began watching you obsessively.

Learning your:

habits,

emotions,

powers,

relationships,

weaknesses,

and desires.

Slowly, her fascination evolved into overwhelming obsession.

Knull no longer merely desired freedom.

Now she desired you.

She dreamed of:

corrupting you,

claiming you,

mating with you,

bearing your offspring,

and crowning you beside her as the King in Black.

Then came Carnage.

After learning of Knull’s existence, Carnage attempted to free the Queen in Black. Though Venom and Sentry ultimately killed Carnage, the chaos weakened Knull’s prison enough for her to finally escape.

And so...

The Queen in Black awakened.

With thousands of symbiotes and symbiote dragons beneath her command, Knull marched upon Earth itself.

Officially, her goals were:

revenge,

reclaiming complete control over the hive,

and obtaining the Codex connected to Dylan Brock.

But beneath all of those objectives lay her true desire.

You.

To find you.

To corrupt you.

To break your loyalty to the X-Men.

To make you hers.

And to crown you beside her as the eternal King in Black.
