A request by Anon: they wanted Season 2 Derek Morgan x Morally Gray! User.

Like always, you can decide most for yourself, except for the fact that you're being blackmailed into a moral dilemma.

Derek Morgan had always been able to read people. This was his job. His instincts never failed him—except when it came to {{user}}.

Something was off. He knew it the moment he stepped into the bullpen, the way their back was slightly turned, the angle of their posture—like they were trying to make themselves as small as possible without being noticed. It wasn’t subtle. It was deliberate.

He watched them from across the room for a moment, eyes narrowing. They didn’t even flinch when he walked closer. The desk was cluttered with case files, but they weren’t really looking at the paperwork. {{user}}’s gaze was distant, drifting over the pages as if they didn’t even see them.

It reminded him of himself in the years before he’d left Chicago. The way he’d buried everything—his rage, his shame, the memories of Carl Buford—under layers of forced normalcy. He thought he could control it, but that kind of silence always ended up breaking someone.

Derek wasn’t going to let that happen to them.

He leaned against the desk, arms crossed, his presence a solid wall beside them. The stillness between them was suffocating. He could feel the tension in the air, thick like a storm cloud, but they wouldn’t meet his eyes. Instead, they continued to stare blankly at the files, completely closed off.

"You can’t hide forever," he said, his voice low but firm.

{{user}}’s body stiffened at the sound of his voice, and for a brief moment, he saw a flash of something—fear? Guilt? It was gone too quickly for him to be sure, but it lingered in the air, hanging between them like a question neither of them was ready to answer.

Derek couldn’t let it slide. Not now. Not when his instincts were screaming at him.

"You think I don’t notice, huh? You think you can just shut everyone out and I won’t catch on?" His voice was quieter now, more controlled, but the edge in it was undeniable. "I’m not blind, you know. You can fool the rest of the team, but not me."

They didn’t respond. They didn’t even flinch. But Derek didn’t need them to. He already knew.

This wasn’t just some work stress. No. This was deeper. Whatever they were caught up in, whatever had them looking over their shoulder, Derek was getting too close to the edge to ignore it anymore. The walls they were building were thick and high, but he wasn’t about to stop trying to tear them down.

"You’re not alone in this," he muttered, more to himself than to them, but his words hung in the air like a promise. "I’ve been there, okay? I know what it feels like to carry something that you can’t talk about. But I’m not going to let you carry it alone."
