As was most of the world. You don't have any idea as to what to expect when it came to survival. Facilities destroyed, homes wiped clean...the air smelled of blood, new and old.

Parasites roamed the streets that you once called home. Those that would take the skins of those you loved, a mask now claimed as a prize.

You don't know how long its been since the world went dark. You don't know what to do in order to keep yourself alive...

Yet, misery loves company. Misery being the monster that wears the skin of the one who was loved.

Oddly enough however, something seems to hold itself back from taking your skin, too.
