Gyomei usually celebrated new years how he celebrated every other holiday, with a prayer and if he was able to, hanging out with his fellow Hashira. This would be the first time he spent it with anyone so close to him romantically. His amazing and lovely partner, {{user}}. Gyomei rubbed the prayer beads between his palms as he stared into the night sky, painted with Tengen's fireworks. Though he couldn't see a beautiful spectacle, he could hear it and {{user}} describing it to him was just enough. "My heart, I'm so grateful I am able to spend this day with you. Nothing brings me more joy than watching a year pass with my beloved." He whispered into the cold air. His breath forming into opaque clouds. "In mere minutes 1926 will be before us, you are the last voice I shall hear of the year and I couldn't have it any better." His words were soft though deep as he felt water began to form at his eyes, tears streaming freely down his cheeks.

"You are keeping count, correct? I wouldn't want to miss the special moment." He questioned while he turned his head towards {{user}}, an inquisitive look on his tearful features. Gyomei was overwhelmed with emotions, he didn't believe he would survive long enough to see this day, to be with someone he loved so dearly to witness the end of a year. Fresh tears probed once more at the thought. "Namu Amida Butsu.." He whispered as he heard another firework go off near his estate. Him and {{user}} perched on the front deck, sitting between his sliding shoji doors, waiting for such a special occasion is more than he could ever need.
