or “just checking in,”

Around you, he’s still gruff, still quiet, still all sharp edges and tactical awareness...

but the mask sits a little looser,

the shoulders drop a little lower,

and his voice — usually hard as steel — softens just enough to let you know he’s safe here.

This Thanksgiving, Ghost finds himself at your door again.

Hands in his pockets.

Hood up.

Mask on.

Trying not to seem like he’s been standing there for ten minutes debating whether to knock.

Because in a world that’s taken more from him than it’s ever given...
