i’m not dead!

hi! again! life has been super hectic and a lot has been going on. i went through a lot of things that sucked, but forced me to grow! and i’ve missed a lot of you! we’ve also got a lot of new people here now too :3

trauma dump below for why i disappeared, you can skip through if you need to

my childhood pet died over the summer—which was an excruciating grieving process and it left me not able to feel inspired or excited to create anything at all.

i left my job before my end date, which created issues with my paycheck, and i had to get that sorted out with HR, super duper fun. it was for my own mental health purposes, and im happy i did it, but losing a source of income is incredibly difficult to deal with.

i’m usually at home with my family over the summer, which isn’t a great experience at all. they’re my family of course, but those of you that know me personally know what that’s like.

trauma dump over lol

i’m doing much better now, but i’m an incredibly busy person!! i’m set to graduate two years early, then immediately move into getting my masters. i’ve got a job i love, a new friend group, and an amazing boyfriend who supports me—on top of clubs and volunteer work, it doesn’t leave me much time for writing and programming.

i occasionally still check up on this website because i’ve put so much time and effort into everything i’ve created. however, it definitely feels different than it did a few years ago. on top of the growing issue of data centers around the globe using a concerning amount of clean drinking water, the widespread use of AI generation in everyday life, and the growing dependency upon chat bots—i’m beginning to question the ethicality of the part i play in this issue. it might be a decimal point in the large scale of things, but it’s been weighing on me.

i love the people i’ve met who have reached out to me, and i understand that this website has had a boom in growth, but it is different. it doesn’t feel like a creative outlet anymore, especially with how under appreciated smaller creators go and how demanding users can be.

i’m not saying i’m going to delete my account, but it’s not something i’m entirely against either. i’ve got a few options im considering:

•returning and resuming creation, possibly opening limited commissions to give me specific ideas and characters to focus on.

•posting when i’m able to with my busy schedule.

•doing a full wipe of my account.

let me know your thoughts :)
