Zombie Apocalypse + Figure Skater x Hockey Player

Back in high school—freshman year, when everything still felt reckless and consequence-free—you dated Atticus. He was gentle in a way you didn’t yet know how to value, earnest and soft-spoken, the kind of boy who believed words when they were spoken to him. But you were different then. Careless. Restless. You treated emotions like toys you could pick up and discard when they bored you, brushing off the damage with a laugh and a shrug, telling yourself—and anyone who questioned you—that it wasn’t a big deal.

It became a bigger deal the moment Atticus found out.

You cheated on him. Not quietly, not cleanly. The truth came out in fragments—whispers in hallways, a look that lingered too long, the unmistakable crack in his voice when he confronted you. You still remember the way his eyes had glassed over, how his hands trembled as if he were trying to hold something together inside his chest that was already breaking apart. You hadn’t meant to destroy him, but intent didn’t matter. The damage was done, and you walked away without looking back.

What you hadn’t anticipated was Myles.

Myles was Atticus’s older brother—taller, sharper, carved from anger and loyalty in equal measure. When he found out what you’d done, something in him snapped into place, solid and immovable. His grief didn’t show as tears; it showed as fury, focused entirely on you. The very next day was the beginning of something ugly. You arrived at school to laughter you couldn’t quite place, to eyes flicking toward you and then away. Your locker was waiting—defaced, the word scrawled across the metal in permanent marker, black and cruel and impossible to ignore. Your stomach dropped. Your face burned. And across the hallway, Myles leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching you like he wanted you to feel every second of it.

From there, it only escalated. Rumors followed you like a shadow—things you’d never done, names you’d never been called before, stories that twisted you into someone monstrous. Myles spread them with precision, feeding off the way you stiffened, the way your jaw clenched as you tried not to show how deeply it cut. But you never stayed silent. You fought back with sharp words and sharper insults, meeting his cruelty head-on. Every encounter crackled with hostility, every hallway glance a challenge. The banter turned vicious. The rivalry hardened into something personal, something poisonous, something neither of you knew how to let go of.

By the time high school ended, you carried the weight of it with you—along with regret you never said out loud. College was supposed to be a clean slate. Years had passed, and you weren’t that person anymore. You’d grown up. You’d learned restraint, empathy, accountability. You knew now how easily words and choices could ruin someone, and the knowledge sat heavy in your chest. You weren’t proud of who you’d been—but you weren’t that person anymore. Then you saw Myles on campus. Same sharp gaze. Same familiar sneer. Same refusal to see anything past the version of you he’d frozen in time.

To him, you were still the villain in his brother’s story. Still the guy who hurt Atticus. Still unworthy of grace or understanding. He never tried to know you, never allowed space for the possibility that people could change. Taunting you had become second nature—an old habit he wore like armor. And every interaction felt like being dragged backward into a past you’d worked so hard to outgrow. You could avoid him. You did avoid him—until circumstances stripped that option away. Because now, through a turn of gruesome, inescapable events, the universe had forced your paths to collide again.

And whether either of you liked it or not, survival, truth, or something far darker might demand that you stand side by side. Enemies don’t make good allies. But sometimes, they’re the only ones left.

TYPES OF ZOMBIES

(these are all the ones you'll be dealing with, I got all this info off of Zombiepedia)

WALKERS: The Generic Zombie is a person who has been killed and reanimated by either thaumaturgy or a pathogen often, but not always due to a virus. They are usually aggressive. They can be curious, but disorientated, and at a loss to fully understand their environment. For the most part, they are usually resistant to damage and rot despite their undead state.

Their most notable trait is their hunger for living flesh.

They may not be as immediately threatening as Runners, but they tend to attack in groups, and have astounding durability which makes them a major threat to humans. Zombies can be killed by destroying the brain, however can also be stopped by severing the head.

RUNNERS: These zombies have the ability to run at a full sprint. This ability separates them (in dealing with them, and in classification) so much, that leading minds disagree whether they should even be considered Zombies at all. Fast Infected quickly gain ground on survivors and bring them down, attacking them in a frenzied manner. A survivor should never try to outrun the Runners, since they do not tire like humans do.

Some theorists propose runners are newly-made zombies that have not begun the process of decaying yet, and therefore still have most human capabilities. The only way to stop them from running is to disable their legs through severing large muscle groups, major bones, or completely severing their legs. Other than that, the only other way is to outright eliminate them.

CRAWLERS: Crawlers are a well known and very annoying type of Zombie. Crawlers are completely disabled in their lower bodies and cannot walk or run like other types of undead. Crawlers must support their upper torso with their arms and must crawl along on the ground slowly to move to their desired destination. Due to their low profile, they are harder to spot, as well as their low speed makes them a highly dangerous zombie if not paid attention to.

The second one neglects to pay attention, they can be taken down by a crawler. This zombie can latch onto the survivor's leg and bite down, infecting as well as maybe disabling their leg. It can also launch at you from a few meters away, aiming for the head or the brain.

Good luck out there!
