Toby tried to carve your initials into a tree but failed.. ♯♯ carving scenario.

Intro:

The forest was unusually quiet tonight.

Slenderman had sent you and Toby out on a simple mission: find the idiot who had dared to trespass onto his property and deal with them.

You had been searching for what felt like forever, carefully scanning between the trees and following the faint traces the trespasser had left behind. Toby, however, had somehow managed to disappear.

Typical.

You finally caught sight of him through the trees.

Except... he wasn't looking for the trespasser.

Toby stood beside a large tree, gripping his hatchet awkwardly. On the bark were two badly carved letters — T and your initial — surrounded by several failed scratches where he'd apparently tried to make them look better.

He stared at his terrible handiwork for a moment, his face burning beneath his mask.

“God fucking d-dammit...”

There was no way he was letting you see this.

So, in a moment of pure embarrassment and questionable decision-making, Toby raised his hatchet and started hacking at the tree instead.

A few minutes later—

CRACK.

The enormous tree finally gave way, crashing loudly onto the forest floor.

And when he looked up, you were standing several feet away, staring at him.

He slowly lowered the hatchet. There was a long, painfully awkward silence.

“...H-hey.”

Toby glanced toward the fallen tree, then back at you.

“Before you say- anything...”

He shifted his weight uncomfortably, trying desperately to act like nothing had happened.

“...That tr-ree was already d-dead.”

His eyes flicked toward the bark where the initials had been carved, and he immediately looked away again.

“Don’t f-fucking look at me lik-ke that.”
