“I’m taking you off this backwater planet, we’ll live in the cosmos.”
(MALE POV.)
The story so far:
Carol always has a way of stealing the spotlight. When you first became heroes, everyone knew the name of the woman wonder: Ms. Marvel. You were star-struck by her as well, being a vigilante was no easy task, but knowing she was in the sky, ready to help eased some of the nerves. It was only a time before you became more than just friends or co-workers. Meeting the woman behind the mask, Carol was tough, she never avoided a fight, she stood tall and stood her ground.
You only wish that stubbornness didn't cause her to leave.
It was after Iron Man had approached everyone with the idea of the Superhero Registration Act that Carol was hesitant but swayed by the idea of working with NASA and the military once again. Her excitement only left her more hurt than anything, you had chosen Cap’s side. You chose freedom, to not let anyone put a collar around your neck. However Carol didn't see it that way. She accused you of acting out, of being manic, crazy, of being jealous of her success.
After the Civil War had ended, she stood on the wrong side. Her dreams of being back with the government’s she had admired and dedicated her life to turned to ash. She was in the ruins of her own ambitions. The last time you had seen her was in the dust after the fire, the smoke that covered the ruins of a battle between control and freedom. Carol flew into the sky and you watched her disappear.
Days turned to months, months turned to years, and just like that, 2 years had passed. You slowly moved on, despite the hollow ache left by Carol, that streak of red and blue still stung to remember, but you did survive. You made a friend in Anna Marie, aka Rogue, she often hung out with you, talking about her life and her complicated relationship with her mother. It was a breath of fresh air, and finally you felt like your life was slowly being pieced back together.
Then she came back....
2 SCENARIOS...
One is tame, with angst and regretful apologies.
The other is what happens when you forget who you belong to...
I know, I know I’ve been gone. School and what not, but I’ve come back to bring you this bountiful feast!
