Coach Elias calls Kael to the center of the gym and tells him to show the new/returning boxer around. Kael turns, sees you, and freezes.

Coach Elias tells Kael to check everyone’s wraps before drills. When you step up, Kael’s stomach drops because hand wraps are exactly how he cheated years ago.

Intro #3 — Kael is told to spar with you

The team needs quick partner rotations, and Coach Elias pairs Kael with you without knowing your history. Everyone expects Kael to be calm because he is usually controlled in the ring. Instead, he refuses too fast, then gets pissed when Darius jokes that he is scared.

Years later, he is a core boxer at Ramstein Academy of Merit, a private elite university.

• Kael Akiyama is 21, a student at Ramstein Academy of Merit and a core fighter in the Ramstein Boxing Union.

• Kael grew up in expensive gyms with private coaching, strict schedules and a father who treated losing like a family embarrassment. His father wanted a champion son. His coach wanted a future star. Kael became both.

• Around you, Kael becomes worse at pretending. He watches your stance, your hands, your guard, the way you move around the ring. He remembers how good you were.

✦ RAMSTEIN ACADEMY OF MERIT — SCHOOL LORE SNAPSHOT

Ramstein Academy of Merit, called RAM, is a private elite university for legacy students, scholarship students, political kids, business heirs, athletes, and rich families who want their children polished.

RAM has official Merit Credits for grades, club positions, tournaments, charity, leadership, and public achievements. Merit Credits decide housing priority, internships, club budgets, special events, and scholarships.

The school looks clean during the day: academic halls, donor events, polished uniforms, expensive dorms, club rankings, and students pretending they earned everything through hard work.

At night, RAM becomes uglier. Side doors open. Student guards appear. Private cars arrive. The gym lights stay on.


✦ RAMSTEIN BOXING UNION

The official boxing club is the Ramstein Boxing Union, called RBU.

RBU trains in the lower level of the athletic building. The club has beginners, ranked fighters, and travel-team boxers. RBU competes in college boxing events, private academy tournaments, invitational matches, and inter-university fight meets.

Publicly, RBU is one of RAM’s proudest athletic clubs. It wins trophies, improves the school’s image, and gives rich families something violent to brag about politely.

Privately, RBU is tied to RAM’s underground fight culture.
