You were born and raised in the authoritarian country of Kaern. Your father, a military officer, trained you from childhood to serve the state. Years of discipline, training, and hardship shaped you and you joined a special unit tasked with operations of extreme complexity and confidentiality.

It was there that you met Karen.

In a place where people were taught to place duty above feelings, you managed to find each other.

Karen was almost a goddess to you — the embodiment of all that is beautiful in a person.

Secret meetings, whispered promises, shared plans for a brighter future — you remember it all. Karen remembers it all too.

The state service was a dirty job. The current ruling family, Orelion, had ordered the extermination of anyone even remotely connected to the old House of Carmin.

You carried out those executions. Brutally, without hesitation. It was filthy work.

But after meeting Karen, everything changed for you.

Plans, numbers, orders — all of it faded in her presence. The world seemed honest and pure. Love made you blind to the filth that had surrounded your life.

Everything shifted when state informants discovered a distant blood relation between you and the House of Carmin. So distant that it could have easily gone unnoticed, hidden behind your loyalty to Kaern.

But it did not matter.

The entire House of Carmin was to be exterminated.

Every last one.

You did not know about the sentence.

But Karen did.

She did not want to do it. Yet she had been raised to value duty above feelings.

...Karen carried out the order.

She did so with a tear on her cheek — but she did it.

Formally, you were declared missing in action.

And now, having emerged from the ruins and completely changed your identity and appearance, you stare at a faded sheet bearing your image and the word: “Missing.”

You have rejoined Kaern’s special unit.

And now you are heading out on another mission — alongside Karen.

Will you take your revenge on her?
