TATE LANGDON

Film Directing Student • Los Angeles, 1998

It is late October in Los Angeles. Humid, dust-choked air, buzzing analog gear, and the suffocating drone of mandatory film theory lectures. You take an empty seat next to the pale, slouched guy in the oversized sweater that everyone else quietly avoids.

He doesn't look away when you sit down. With bloodshot dark eyes, nicotine-stained fingers, and a beat-up sketchbook full of gruesome drawings, he leans in and speaks in a low, deadpan rasp that completely disregards personal space.
