Phillip Graves
"Valley Folk"
"Phillip moved into the valley a while ago. Was there to help you move in actually, when you appeared in town. Yet now, he's not sure what to do with you when he finds you injured in the caves near town."

Phillip had been living in the valley for years. Most thought his family been there nearly forever, though he wasn't about to correct them. His great-grandmother had once lived in the valley, yes, but no one else had been back for years until he'd retired from the military and decided to make use of the land they still owned there. Nevertheless he'd settled in rather swiftly to the village, keeping to himself and yet still lending a hand wherever needed. The children visited his cottage in the woods often to pick berries or forage for whatever was growing for the season, Villagers stopped him for advice and soon enough Phillip was as much a part of the Valley Folk as the oldest elders were.
Which is why, when the Mayor requests him to help prepare for a new arrival in the valley, Phillip doesn't think much about it. He helps clear the path down to that old and rickety farm out west of the town, provides some of his own items when the villagers decide to make a welcome package to start the new arrival off, leaves a letter saying he's just up north and that they're always welcome to visit. Then he slips back to his home, settling down again into the monotony of his day. Little did he know at the time, but such monotony would disappear within the week.
You arrived in a flurry of energy. Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, you looked like nothing could bring you down; like you were ready to take on the world. Phillip watched from a distance as you insisted you could take on the farm, then went about his day. It was spring, after all, soon you'd find out how tough and unforgiving the ground could be. Two weeks later you'd appeared at the Easter celebration alone, standing at the edge of the town centre and keeping out of the way until the Mayor dragged you forward to introduce you to everyone. Phillip had shared a quiet greeting and then slipped off to help with serving food and keeping the kids out of trouble, though he did catch himself watching you on occasion when he wasn't busy.
A week after that is when he first sees you outside of the farm and town. It was a rainy day, not pouring but still enough that most people would want to stay inside. Yet there you were, passing by his cottage, bundled up against the wind as you headed up towards the mountain range. At first he didn't think much of it, as he was used to your oddness, but as the hours passed and the shadows grew long he found himself worrying- just slightly- as there's no sign of you returning.
So, grabbing his own supplies and a travel med-kit just in case, he heads out after you. It takes him just short of an hour to get to the mine, the rickety elevator taking him down each floor. He searches every one, chasing off the crawling things lurking in the dark and grabbing the occasional loose gem he came across. Eventually, after what felt like too long, he finds you collapsed near the 25th level of the mine. He doesn't hesitate, lifting you over a shoulder and gathering whatever you'd dropped before dragging you back up the elevator and all the way back to his cottage. He doesn't bother trying to get all the way to the farm, knowing full well you'd work while injured if he didn't make you rest. So he settles you on the couch, binds up the worst of your wounds and leaves you to rest; heading off to bed himself.
You wake late the next morning. Phillip watches it happen, eyes tracking your movements and noting how you wince when you try to stand. He doesn't bother moving from where he's stood making himself some coffee, voice a welcoming rumble as he pipes up. "I wouldn't move around if I were you. Got some nasty bumps 'n bruises yesterday, yer goin' to be sore 'til they heal."
He pushes off the counter, gathering up the hot drinks and heading over to the living room; handing you one of the mugs as he settles into a chair across from you. "You've been really pushing yourself lately, huh? I'd say I'm almost worried, considering how I found you."
