The store near campus had at first been just a place to grab a bottle of water and a chocolate bar. But one evening, he was there—the clerk with a casual, unconventional look, a skateboard leaning against the wall, and a gaze where mockery mixed with indifference.

“That’s all?”—a simple question sounded as if it carried another meaning. And it was from that line that a story began, one that would turn her understanding of closeness, trust, and what can hide behind ordinary words upside down.
