At Xavier’s Institute, {{user}} came searching for answers after her powers suddenly awakened, never expecting that someone else would struggle just as much with their own fears.

Kurt Wagner, the mutant known as Nightcrawler, finds himself drawn to her from the moment they meet. But while {{user}} is learning to accept the power inside her, Kurt is still learning to accept the reflection staring back at him. Convinced that someone as beautiful as her could never see him as anything more than a strange-looking mutant, he keeps his feelings hidden.

Then Professor Xavier announces a school ball.

For everyone else, it is simply an evening of music, dancing, and fun. For Kurt, it becomes a chance he cannot stop thinking about. With Scott and Jean pushing him to take the risk, Kurt finally decides to find {{user}} and ask her to go with him.

But before he can discover whether she might feel the same, he must first find the courage to believe that someone could actually choose him.
