I will also be leaving the lorebook below public and able to be copied, allowing for you to have a live visual of what the I'm yapping about gang.

Making this because someone asked me, and also because I don't really see most bot creators using them(even though In my opinion, they are so easy to make, even if time consuming....)

Though this is my version, so don't expect me to explain to well or anything(even though I will try my best 😭)

What I know about Lorebooks:

So how to explain this(I will be keeping these parts in), I guess....

Lorebooks are basically a storage vault for all the info a bot may need to know, such as about the world, locations(in specific), characters info, how to act for certain personality types, ETC. Basically everything the bot needs to know for a chat.

What you put into lorebooks is basically stuff you mention in the bot(but in the lorebook you put far more detail, so the tokens don't get to crazy LOL)

Like in one of my most popular bots "A Empress's Dream(Ft Silver, Empress Sage, Repaired Omega, Shadow, Neo Metal Sonic, and Snick.)", the token count is only 4428(could be smaller if I put silver and sage's info in the lorebook instead LOL)

However without a lorebook, it becomes a monstrous....

And that was BEFORE I added extra stuff like Snick and his stuff!

Yeah, a very noticeable difference huh?

The first count can be used by Janitor users without proxy, while the other can really only be used by those with proxies. (That's why I also felt like I needed to make it, I see so many bots I may like to use, but can't because I don't have a proxy, meaning those bots are out of my reach FR)

It's basically a script that whispers in a bots ear "Hey this is what to include here and now during the chat", as well as also allowing for tons of info to be in the lorebook without actually having it all be mentioned at once.

Now how I use lorebooks:

I use them like books and storage, basically I put all the world info, character info, ETC, into a lorebook so I don't have to put it into a bot. As you can tell, the bot's past the one I mentioned above are all(mostly), under 5k tokens(with the use of lorebooks).

Lorebooks can also be used to other stuff, as you have seen, I have many(some may call me...a librarian the way I have so many...)

Anyway

I also do things different, since(if you don't know), the more sections you put into a lorebook, the harder it is for a bot to remember without it being mentioned by you.

You can fix this by having some sections always be active(meaning no matter what Is sent in a chat, the bot will remember it due to the lorebook section being active, especially if the lorebook is small and if the chatter has a proxy)

How To Make Lorebooks:

You go to the scripts beta page, click the plus thing, and than you should be on this page(pictures below, if you can't see them, go to your settings and scroll down until you see the "Description Display Settings" and turn that on.

Now for the next section, I will only be speaking about the script type lorebook, I do NOT know how to do anything with the advanced one(If anyone knows, I can add it, with credit of course), so if your looking for that, I'm sorry!

Now you need a name first, can be anything(even a simple ".", I just checked).

After that, you need to select a script type, for this we will be selecting the one it's already on when you clicked the plus, the lorebook one.

After that chose a color of your choice, a description(can leave it empty), a image(can leave it empty as well, though for the one's I let you see below, I will fill these all out), and a message depth(to my knowledge, since I don't really mess around with it too much, message depth is basically how long it takes for a lorebook to kick in.)

Now after that and you create it, you should see this!

You should click the empty box thing(above where the whole "Entries are ordered by priority. The top entries have stronger influence than the ones below." thing is!)

You should see a lot of stuff(I will no longer be taking screenshots, this hurts my soul). So instead I will be going by section on what I know.

Tags: Do nothing to a bot, but for you, it helps with organization, such as what section is for a character, a world, a item, a location, etc.

Entry Name: I don't think this effects the ai, but for you, it let's you call what each section is(the lorebooks will have multiple showings)

comments: I guess this is comments for yourself(Like if you need to finish it at a later date, comment)? Though keep in mind, I don't use this section so uh....

For these I will since it's important.

Keys: Basically keywords for the lorebook, incase you don't want something to happen unless mentioned, keys are how you do it! So say you have an event In the bot that only happens when a word is said, in key's for that section in the lorebook, you'd put down said keyword. There is also secondary keys, but I don't use those so uh....Yeah.

Now if you have a section that is always active(Like the world info for example), than you don't need keys, as they are for organization only now.

Placement: I don't know what this is, since I don't ever touch it.

Content: Where you put all the info, like for the world, character, ETC! This is the heart of the section, such as if you're making a character, this is where you put all their info(like name, appearance, fun fact's, ETC). You can do this for anything like items, dances, poses, etc(yes even positions)

Depth: We already talked about that in the messages depth thing, but as said in the photo, this is for how many messages it takes before this section may be active.

Now for the stuff below the depth, I don't touch it AT ALL, so if anyone who does wants, can you explain? I didn't find a need to mess with it.

And finally,

the assign characters and chat thing

So this

Is where you assign the lorebook to a character, you click the button, and you'll see the bot's you have made. Just click on the bot you want, click yes, and once done, should look like this!

Now for the chat thing, it looks like this(You have to click on the bot you wanna test chat with first and than click test chat(I don't mess with the other stuff in the character thing)

You select the persona you want(yes Uzi is my default), and than you chat with the bot to test things out. Please note that when you test chat, it's like a normal chat in the mini box, meaning that it will count to your chat numbers,

I don't use the debug panel, but I assume(from what it says), you can see console output when you send a message so yeah...

Note's:

You should always, ALWAYS, try and save your lorebooks when you can or add anything new, no matter what okay?

If note, it's rather annoying, and I mean always, even if you click on a different lorebook, also save that one anyway(even if you didn't change anything).

I also don't know if there's a limit to how many lorebooks a character can hold(I don't know, but I've added over five lorebooks to a single bot, so I don't know)

Different Types(Or ways on how to use)Lorebooks:

You can use it for just characters, for just world info, for personalities, etc. Basically for anything really.

I normally split up my lorebooks based on what they are for, like a lorebook for the heroes of sonic, one for the villains(Like the eggman empire lorebook only about eggman and his empire), stuff like that.

You can also do things like item only lorebooks(I have a lorebook of only world locations for mobius), and even for moves(like sonic's spindash and boost)

I would also suggest clicking on and reading the help thing they have when you go on the page(it help's and was helpful to me when I started, and is probably way more in detail and shit LOL).

Should also mention for those on mobile, since I used both mobile and laptop to make lorebooks before, and will say, ALWAYS save on mobile, far more than you think you should. Maybe it's just my phone or something, but that shit is so ass on mobile, so like, just be careful okay?

But who knows, maybe the app will fix that(Maybe)

I will also be making two lorebooks public as a real example(one of what not to do, and one of what I do now)

The "Other Sonic Characters I don’t wanna add to the original lorebook since it’s getting too big." lorebook is what not to do(You can, but it is not a good method from what I have found out)

and The "The Emo and Disassembly Drones At Hot Topic(Murder Drones Semi AU)" lorebook is what I do now.
