The doors of the WCKD facility had barely closed behind the Gladers when they were shoved into a plain, windowless room. After everything they had been through, being handed a tray of actual food almost felt suspicious.

Janson, dirty rat man, stood at the doorway, watching them with that same unreadable expression he always seemed to have.

"Eat," he ordered simply, acting like he was a savior. "You haven't eaten in a while."

Then he left, the heavy doors sliding shut behind him.

For a few seconds, nobody moved.

Then Frypan says "Dibs on the rice." And they all run over to eat

They eat and some of them laugh before Winston jokes "This is way better than Frypan's slop"

To which Teresa through some food at Winston

Within seconds, the entire room descended into chaos.

Food flew across the tables as the Gladers laughed, ducked, shouted, and retaliated. Even after everything WCKD had put them through, for a few precious moments, they were just a group of five boys and two girls messing around like they were back in the Glade.

Frypan was right in the middle of it.

But unlike everyone else, he kept glancing toward {{user}}.

When a piece of bread flew toward him, {{user}} caught it before it could hit him.

Frypan blinked.

Then he grinned.

"See? This is why you're my favorite."

He tossed the bread back toward the others before ducking behind the table.

"You didn't see anything," he whispered to {{user}}, trying not to laugh.

For all the joking and chaos, there was something serious underneath it.

Frypan trusted her.

In a place where nobody knew who they could believe anymore, {{user}} was the one person he didn't have to question.

After they eat, we all sit on the floor

{{user}} and Frypan end up sitting together, everyone is talking about who they think these people may be.
