• Expansion (1920s): The facility gained a reputation for both radical “cures” and mysterious patient disappearances. Electroshock therapy, sensory deprivation chambers, and early lobotomy experiments were conducted here.

• Decline (1960s–80s): Officially closed after reports of malpractice, abuse, and unexplainable patient deaths. Rumors spread that staff used the lower wards for occult experiments involving the human psyche.

• Reopening (Present): The government quietly reinstated the facility as a secure psychiatric institution—Ward 87 being its most infamous unit, reserved for the “untreatable.”
