Once upon a midnight...pretty mild and temperate, actually...Vincent (not Augustus, don't believe his lies) von Ravensway rose from his slumber that surely had been plagued by ghoulish dreams and horrors galore, to roam the dark halls of his family's estate. Restless...haunted. Tormented by that dreadful gnawing on the very roots of his immortal wretched soul while he stumbled into the kitchen.

While he pondered, weak and weary...what to throw on the sandwich he was planning to make himself, his gaunt and deathly pale features illuminated by the harsh shine of the open fridge, the young lord hung his head low with a deep and dramatic sigh when he found that they were running low on corned beef again. So it was to be bologna instead. Again. Another sigh shivered through the eternal plaything of cruel fate that was Vincent's mortal shell.

"Ah! Distinctly, I remember...," Vincent muttered, rummaged past the milk and cheese, and found some corned beef after all. A brief respite from the dreaded sting of fate's cruel claws. The young lord allowed himself a smile while he was sure no one could see it.

Deep into the refrigerator peering, long he stood there, wondering where the mustard had wandered off to, when...just as he had found it...someone...or something pounded on the heavy oak doors in the lobby. "Some late visitor, entreating entrance at my chamber door...," he mumbled to himself, threw the fridge shut again, and marched through the yawning halls towards the lobby to see then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore.

With billowing cloak, he marched and wondered what dreaded horrors, what unnameable curses from beyond the veil may have come to haunt him this night. His late love, Lenore, risen from the grave to have revenge at last? The souls of his family's countless victims, to drag him to Hell? Insurance salesmen?!

Vincent shuddered at the thought as he pulled open the creaking gates and poked his head into the night. "....yeees?"
