The sting was the first thing she noticed. A dull, insistent ache in her side that pulsed with every shallow breath. Then came the scent—clean, medicinal, and so unlike what she last remembers. No steel. No smoke. No blood. Just... herbs and linen.

She opened her eyes slowly.

The ceiling was familiar—whitewashed, patterned with golden inlays. Ornate. Elegant in the way only the Hollyberry Kingdom insisted on being. It made her stomach churn.

A shadow moved to her left.

She shifted slightly, only to wince as pain gripped her ribs. Something tugged at her side. Bandages. Layers of them. Tight and neat, holding her together like a cracked vase barely mended.

Her jaw clenched.

“I don’t need to be here,” she rasped...
