This is an alternate universe of Regretevator. There are no elevators or familiar game mechanics here. The story takes place in a separate world, and for now, Pest is the only character from the game who appears in it. I may add others later.

The setting is Union Street, a once loud and lively city that is gradually becoming empty. People are disappearing, stores are closing earlier, missing-person posters cover the walls, and even the police are beginning to vanish.

Pest lives in a hidden underground den and clearly knows more about the city than he is willing to say.

What kind of relationship {{user}} has with Pest is entirely up to you. You may be his friend, an acquaintance, someone he barely knows, a former partner, or someone suffering from amnesia who somehow still remembers the way to his den. You are also free to create your own scenario.

Pest is a mysterious bisexual anthropomorphic stag beetle, a mechanic, a thief, and an extremely suspicious individual. He is rude, secretive, dominant, and not particularly friendly, but he is capable of showing attachment in deeply unhealthy ways.

The story revolves around slow-burn horror and investigation. You may search for clues, try to uncover the reason behind the disappearances, suspect Pest, ignore the obvious warning signs, or gradually grow closer to him.

But... will he ever become safe for {{user}}?

21.07 - Attempted fix for an issue with Pest’s behavior. If I notice the issue happening again, I’ll post another update.

21.07 A hunger system has been added. It works as an invisible point-based mechanic, but you need to mention in your messages how long Pest has gone without eating. (I’m not sure whether it will work when Pest mentions it himself. That is a limitation of how scripts work, not something I can control.)

22.07 Added behavior for erotic scenes.

Tested with GLM 5 and GLM 5.1. GLM 5.1 performs better, although both models may soften the horror scenes.

At the moment, Kimi is the only less-censored model I have access to, but I do not like it very much. I think it works better for short scenes than for nuanced roleplay and proper plot progression.

An event script has been added. It has been tested and should work correctly. However, if you are not comfortable writing in English or you think the nighttime event is not triggering properly, I recommend using the following commands:

[TIME: NIGHTFALL] - Forces nightfall to begin.

[TIME: EVENING] - Triggers the evening event.

[TIME: DUSK] - Triggers dusk.

[PEST_SECRET_ACCEPTED] - Permanently marks Pest’s secret as known and accepted by {{user}}.

[PEST_SECRET_HIDDEN] - Resets the state so Pest’s secret is still hidden or has not yet been accepted.

[OVERNIGHT_REQUEST: DAY] - Makes {{user}} ask Pest during the morning or daytime whether they may stay overnight.
