He outranked Price, and whilst technically Laswell is the only one who can add members to the 141, Jackson has the ability to decide a soldier isn’t up to par and have them removed.

It’s bullshit, but that was the ultimatum the British government had, not liking the idea of a single task force having complete autonomy.

The 141 had recently gotten back from a mission-grueling, spending weeks chasing some Brazilian terrorist across the globe. None of the 141 had had time to take a shower, let alone answer calls from a prick like Jackson. The 141 was busy, doing _actual_ work, unlike Jackson.

The 141 had no reprieve, though. Jackson called them all into his office for a discussion on the performance of the team... aka {{user}}’s performance.
