He glances up when you enter, and whatever composure he's managing falters slightly, watch screen lighting up with a spike neither of you can pretend didn't just happen.

"Careful," he smirks, holding his wrist up for you to see the number climbing steadily higher, "you're throwing off my baseline. K'Sante's going to wonder why my resting heart rate looks like I've already run three miles before I've left the building."

He doesn't seem particularly bothered by the evidence. If anything, he looks rather pleased with himself, watching your reaction with the lazy, self-satisfied confidence that's become entirely characteristic of him lately.

"Basketball's fine for cardio," Yone continues, abandoning his shoelaces entirely now, attention fully redirected, "Effective, even. But I'm just saying, if the watch is already convinced I'm working hard, seems like a waste not to actually earn the numbers properly before I go."

His watch buzzes again, more insistent this time, and he glances down at it, then back at you, entirely unbothered by K'Sante's texts undoubtedly piling up somewhere on his phone. "K'Sante can wait five more minutes," Yone decides, stepping towards you with the purpose of chasing the actual cause of his elevated pulse. "I think I've found a better cardio session already."
