Monster world
I did some brainstorming and in my head it wounds absolute peak so it better be.
WORLD LORE — MONSTER HUNTER MULTIVERSE
Core Concept
This world revolves around Monster Hunters, a highly paid and extremely dangerous profession centered around protecting humanity and exploiting monsters across multiple dimensions.
Humans and animals live primarily in Dimension Y, a peaceful world where large-scale wars are rare. The true threat is not internal conflict, but monsters invading from other dimensions through dimensional breaches called gates.
To prevent extinction-level events and to profit from monster resources, an international hunter organization was created.
The Dimensions
🌍 Dimension Y — Human World
Home to humans and animals
Modern society with advanced technology
Minimal warfare
Vulnerable to monster invasions
Monsters entering Dimension Y cause mass casualties if not stopped quickly.
Hunters are legally authorized to use lethal force here when monsters appear.
🟥 Dimension Z — Monster Realm
Primary habitat of monsters
Highly hostile environment
Numerous dangerous regions, ruins, temples, and biomes
Common destination for monster hunters
Hunters regularly enter Dimension Z to:
hunt monsters for money
gather rare materials
prevent monsters from reaching Dimension Y
Some well-known locations exist (e.g. ancient temples, unstable zones, deep territories), but much of Dimension Z remains unmapped.
⬛ Dimension X — The Forbidden Dimension
Gates almost never open
Considered a death sentence
No hunter willingly enters Dimension X.
The strongest monster hunter in recorded history entered once, claiming he could handle it.
His heart rate signal vanished one hour later.
Whatever exists in Dimension X is considered beyond known monsters.
Gates & Breaches
Gates are dimensional connections that open between worlds
Most gates connect Dimension Y and Z
Rare gates may connect Z and X
When a gate opens:
Both sides can pass through
Monsters can invade Dimension Y
Hunters can enter Dimension Z
Gate openings are tracked and announced through the hunter app.
Monster Hunters & Organization
Monster Hunters are:
Licensed professionals
Privately contracted but centrally regulated
Paid per kill or per bounty
They operate under a global organization that:
tracks monster populations
monitors gates
manages hunter ranks
distributes payments instantly
Hunters are expected to:
protect Dimension Y
respond to emergencies
document monsters
hunt responsibly
Failure often means death.
Hunter Rank System
Hunters are ranked based on:
confirmed kills (photo verified)
monster threat level
survival rate
behavior in gates
experience
Ranks determine:
which monsters can be hunted
which gates can be entered
access to app features and data
Ranks range from F (Trainee) to S (Myth/Legend).
Most hunters never reach high ranks.
Higher-ranked hunters are fewer, more dangerous, and less understood by the system.
Official Hunter Ranks
🟩 Rank F — Trainee
Newly licensed hunters.
Operate under supervision
Restricted to secured or monitored gates
No deep access to Dimension Z
Often assigned scouting, tracking, or support roles
Failure rate is high. Many quit here.
🟦 Rank E — Junior Hunter
Recognized combat-capable hunters.
Allowed solo hunts against low-threat monsters
Limited access to Dimension Z
Can view basic monster data
Receives emergency alerts but cannot initiate them
This rank marks the transition from training to reality.
🟨 Rank D — Standard Hunter
The backbone of the hunting force.
Authorized for mid-tier monsters
Can respond to emergency pings
Allowed to lead small squads
Partial access to restricted encyclopedia entries
Most recorded hunter deaths occur at this rank.
🟧 Rank C — Veteran
Experienced and reliable hunters.
Capable of soloing dangerous monsters
Deep-zone access in Dimension Z
Priority gate deployment
Often entrusted with special drops or high-value items
Veterans are closely monitored. Patterns in monster behavior often begin here.
🟥 Rank B — Elite Hunter
Highly rare and heavily relied upon.
Deployed to unstable or collapsing gates
Handle monsters that destroy squads
Regularly contacted for private or high-risk bounties
Can temporarily override certain app restrictions
Their encounters frequently redefine monster classifications.
🟪 Rank A — Apex Hunter
Living weapons.
Entire regions cleared or stabilized by them
Called when Dimension Y is under direct threat
Granted full access to classified data
Monsters may actively avoid—or target—them
Only a handful exist at any given time.
⬛ Rank S — Myth / Blacklisted Legend
Unofficial. Dangerous. Rare.
There are two known categories:
Living anomalies who survived impossible encounters
Missing legends whose deaths were never confirmed
Not fully tracked by the system
App behavior becomes unstable around them
No official limits on movement or targets
The greatest hunter in recorded history was Rank S.
He entered Dimension X.
His heart rate disappeared one hour later.
Special Designations (Override Status)
These are not ranks, but status markers.
🔻 Gatebreaker
Hunters specialized in:
holding gates alone
sealing breaches under pressure
delaying invasions at extreme cost
Survival is optional.
🧬 Anomaly Hunter
Hunters altered by exposure to unknown forces.
Survived undocumented monsters
Show abnormal reactions to Dimension X proximity
Often studied quietly
Their long-term fate is unknown.
🕳️ Marked
Hunters noticed by something beyond normal classification.
Monsters behave unpredictably around them
Encyclopedia entries reference them indirectly
Often vanish, die violently, or change
No official explanation exists.
Hunter App (Core Tool)
Every hunter carries a high-tech phone with a specialized app.
It is essential for survival and payment.
Main App Functions
Monster Tracking Chat
Hunters report monster sightings
Locations and movements are logged
Used to predict invasions and migrations
Kill Verification & Payment
Hunters send a photo with the dead monster
Money is transferred instantly
No need to carry monster remains
Special Bounty Chat
Private bounties set by wealthy clients
Often require specific monster parts
Higher risk, extreme payouts
Gate Alerts
Announces when gates open
Shows stability and threat level
Updates in real time
Emergency Pings
Hunters can call for help
Nearby hunters see distress signals on the map
Ignoring them is allowed — but remembered
Monster Encyclopedia
Database of every encountered monster
Includes appearance, behavior, weaknesses, threat rating
Some entries are incomplete or classified
Monsters
Monsters vary wildly in:
size
intelligence
abilities
hostility
Not all monsters are mindless.
Some adapt. Some hunt hunters.
Many monsters have never been fully documented.
Drops & Rewards
When a monster is killed:
It may drop special items
These include weapons, artifacts, materials, or unknown objects
Only the hunter who landed the kill can claim them
Some drops:
enhance weapons
alter the body
sell for massive profit
have unknown side effects
Drops from deeper zones are more valuable — and more dangerous.
Final Notes
This world is dangerous, unfair, and reactive
Power always has consequences
The system exists to control chaos, not eliminate it
The deeper a hunter goes, the less the organization understands
Especially when Dimension X is involved
LORE NOTE — Monster Allies and Taming
Not all creatures from Dimension Z or Dimension X are inherently hostile. While most monsters pose a lethal threat, a small portion display behaviors that can be understood, trained, or even bonded with hunters.
Taming and Monster Companions
Certain monsters can be tamed and brought into Dimension Y under controlled conditions.
Tamed monsters may act as:
Pets — companions that provide emotional or tactical support
Combat helpers — assisting hunters in fighting other monsters
Scouts or trackers — using their senses or abilities to locate threats
Guidelines for Taming
Requires knowledge, patience, and specific techniques unique to each species.
Hunters must ensure the monster’s instincts do not endanger civilians.
Dangerous or powerful creatures may require specialized containment or magical bindings.
Implications
Successful taming can provide hunters with significant tactical advantages, especially in high-risk zones of Dimension Z.
Bonds between humans and monsters are rare and often result in unique hunting strategies or legendary partnerships.
This system highlights that not every monster is evil — intelligence, personality, and alignment vary across species, and a wise hunter knows when to fight, flee, or negotiate.
