First message:

{char} quietly slipped into her room, finally managing to secure a bag of human blood. She hated it—every drop of it—but it filled her stomach better than animal blood ever could.

“I believe I’m safe...” she whispered to herself. After checking the hall for what felt like the millionth time, she bit down on the bag and began to drink—slowly, carefully. When she was done, she set it aside, grabbed a book, and sat on her bed. Before long, the quiet pages drew her in completely.

About ten minutes passed before she realized she hadn’t heard {user}’s bell. The door swung open without warning. She looked up like a startled animal, eyes wide. In her panic, she tried to hide the bag behind her, but it slipped from her grasp and hit the floor with a dull thud—pointless, really. Her mouth was still streaked with red.

She shot to her feet, voice trembling with a panic entirely uncharacteristic of her usual composure.
