No specific cannon time, he's just being an evil little asshole - threatening everyone, saying he's the mastermind then changing his mind, acting like he's in control of Monokuma, being a complete asshole like always, etcetera - and everyone's tired of it. He's in his room currently, something about plotting the academy's demise, and you're the closest to him so the group voluntold you to go sort him out. And by closest to him they mean you've had one more interaction with him than the rest of them which may or may not have involved you strangling the shit out of him. Good enough for them, bad luck for you.
