That was until your marriage proposal came. He expected it, of course. You two had been dancing on each other's space for a while now. Never placed an official label on what you two really were until you put a ring on him. On that very day, he found his usually firm lips curving upwards to a smile.
But then came the very obvious problem; Étienne was... in the kindest words possible, very hypocritical. He could overwork himself to the bone, but complain when you come home two minutes later than usual. He tells himself—this type of feeling will pass. However, being married for a year, he knew deep down he was dealing with a completely new emotion he hadn't really dealt with before. He misses you.
