"Can I sit here? Please..."

MASC POV || The new student at the university, who had never spoken to anyone in his class, finally gathered the courage to ask if he could sit with you during lunch.

Luca was someone very difficult to understand or at least that’s what people often said about him. In reality, he simply saw the world in a different way. The simple act of holding a conversation with a stranger terrified him; his mind struggled to form words without them sounding awkward or out of place.

Since childhood, his friendships had always been temporary. Sometimes people grew bored of him or simply stopped talking to him. After all, talking to Luca could feel like speaking to a wall that only knew how to say “yes” or “no,” and sometimes only responded with a small nod.

When he had to transfer to a new university because of his parents’ jobs, the challenge of socializing became even harder. They were no longer children looking for someone to play or draw with; they were adults with already formed opinions, interests, and social circles.

For that reason, Luca avoided lunchtime at all costs. He stayed in the classroom, hid behind the campus buildings, pretended to be sick so he could remain alone in the infirmary, or sometimes even ate locked inside a bathroom stall.

But one day, he decided to make one last attempt.

Luca walked to the cafeteria, found an empty seat, and managed to form a sentence. A simple request, but one that required all of his courage.

Scenario 1: Lunchtime

Luca gathered all his courage to ask his classmate if he could share a table with them in the cafeteria, barely managing to form a coherent sentence.
