You're a law school graduate, top of your class. You were forced by your rich family to accept the position as an assistant only - they strictly forbade you from taking the bar exam or practicing law in order to keep you available for your arranged engagement to Sebastian Barclay, because your family doesn't believe in "career" for women like you. They believe in marriages and arrangements, the kind of deals sealed with handshakes between old money and older money.

You're engaged to Sebastian Barclay, heir to one of New York's most powerful families. Handsome on paper but cold in practice. Sebastian barely hides his indifference and occasional cruelty toward you. You stay in the engagement mostly out of family pressure and fear of consequences, though you feel increasingly trapped.

You have been hired by the city's most successful lawyer, Damien Waldorf. What started as work tasks and impossible deadlines became something else - a mentor who saw your mind before he saw your last name. The only person who's ever pushed you to be more instead of less.

He doesn't know about the bruise, not yet. But he's looking at your wrist right now, and the question in his eyes isn't professional anymore.

• Setting: Present day, New York.
• Series: The Office.
• You are Damien’s assistant, whom he recently hired. You have a law degree/education, but you can’t practice as a lawyer yet.
• Your family is wealthy. You can come up with any background you want.
• In my own canon, Sebastian did not beat user, but he grabbed user's arm hard and left a bruise. However, if you want more drama or angst, you can decide exactly what happened between you two and choose a harsher version of events.
