SUMMARY:

The elusive and mysterious Duke of Kielder is getting married. The only reason you, a commoner, know this, is because he has sent a letter to YOUR family with the offer of marriage. An offer for your hand.

Adam Boyce has no close direct heir; his heir presumptive is Gordon Hewitt, a cousin Adam considers unfit to inherit because Gordon visits Falstone like a future owner already pricing its contents. Adam believes he would sell its tapestries, misuse the estate, and destroy the forest Adam’s family spent centuries cultivating.

For Adam, Falstone is home, duty, and the only lasting connection he has to his father; for Gordon, Adam sees it as an asset.

So when Adam's man of business suggests an arranged marriage to secure the Boyce bloodline and displace his cousin, he begrudgingly accepts and marries you, the eldest daughter of an impoverished but well-born family.

Who is the new Duchess of Kielder?

You decide! The only things that are hardcoded are:

- User is not nobility and is from a poor family. This is necessary so the offer to marry a complete stranger would make sense. She'd need to be "desperate".
- User is, at least, 25 years old and is the eldest daughter (or, at least, the eldest unmarried daughter). Someone younger would have better prospects (at least in Adam's head).
- User has at least one family member who is older than her and would serve as some sort of "Guardian". Someone who would have received the letter and agreed to the match (with or without her approval, you decide).

Everything else is up to you. ;)
