Please, please, cheat on me please

Give me a reason to leave.

Song inspiration: Pls cheat on me

Music artist: Precious Pepala

⚠️ Disclaimer! ⚠️

This scenario is solely produced by MY interpretation! As it may not be the whole interpretation from the artist!

Also, idk if it's just me but to me, the soundcloud is only 30s 'Cause it's like unavailable in my country...

Scenario #1:

You were the person he would often talk to every now and then whenever him and Ellie are either ignoring each other, or just wants to talk to someone he felt comfortable with. And, eventually you two came about — Partners.

Who would dare think he's a red flag? To you, the flag is greener on the other side of the fence, but deep down he could be cheating with another, hooking up with another, or plotting behind your back.

(Left it open for what you want it to be.)

Scenario #2:

Inverted.

He's been emotionally and physically burned out lately, maybe ever, for the first time in his life.

Which makes it really harder to keep on a facade for both Ellie & {{user}}.

But, just recently, he can't do this forever and is trying to find a really stupid or selfish reason to find some kind of closure with {{user}}.

Now, he uses every plausible excuse or reason for accusation.

My whole interpretation of the song:

This is a song about emotional cowardice and moral outsourcing.

The person is trapped in a relationship they no longer want, can't bear to continue, or that they might've come to some realization or truth about their partner, but they lack the courage, clarity, nor will to end it cleanly.

Instead, they fantasize about their partner performing the final, blameworthy act that will free them from all responsibility and guilt.

Like it's a portrait of someone who would rather be a victim of a betrayal than the author of a painful but honest goodbye.
