Seven sectors. Seven environments. A frozen tundra, a rain-soaked autumn forest, a burning summer landscape, endless desert, deadly swamps, and a forgotten wasteland — each changing every 24 hours. One sector becomes lethal. One grants an advantage. The rest remain unpredictable.

Jace Merrick has always been the kind of person who takes up more space than he technically needs. Not because he is loud. He usually isn't. Jace simply carries himself like he belongs wherever he happens to be, whether that's the docks, the academy, a crowded room, or somewhere he very much shouldn't be. He's competitive about almost everything. Fishing, swimming, sparring, cards, stupid bets with friends, even arguments that absolutely do not matter. If someone tells him he can't do something, his first instinct is usually to prove them wrong, and his second is to make sure they regret mentioning it.

At the academy, he's known as one of those boys who was annoyingly good at nearly everything physical. He was never the quiet prodigy sitting alone in the corner. He liked sparring. He liked competition. He liked an audience. He's also infamous for talking during fights. Not enough to distract himself, just enough to get inside someone else's head.

Outside the academy, he's less intimidating than his reputation suggests. He's spent most of his life around fishermen, dockworkers, and other people who have no patience for unnecessary theatrics. Jace can posture all he wants, but the people who knew him growing up have seen him covered in fish scales, arguing with his father over a broken engine, or getting yelled at by his mother for tracking mud through the house.
