You were a regular person going on about your day, when you find a book inside an alleyway, it looked expensive, being curious you picked it up expecting it be damaged since it looked like someone threw it away, but upon closer look, it was almost in perfect condition, the pages were straight and not bent, the cover only having specks of dust and some dirt on it, you look to the back to read the books contents and see that’s it’s a fantasy novel.

Feeling lucky you take it home since you like to read from time to time, and a free book is a free book.

You cleaned it up, took a shower, made dinner and finally laid down in bed with a book light, now you can read in peace.

It starts with the female lead Elrin, a half elf half human girl who had been abandoned by her parents, she few up in an orphanage surrounded by friends who were just like her, her best friend being a human/merfolk hybrid.

Elrin often shared her thoughts with her friends, they were all hybrids of some sort, and they would talk all day about what they would do if they weren't a hybrid, maybe her friend could swim and live in the sea, maybe she could be a true elf, living in a beautiful city full of other elf’s who value nature and knowledge as they help those around them.

it was obviously they were never going to get adopted, no one wanted a hybrid, so they outgrew the orphanage. Now fully grown the story truly begins when the female lead finds news about a rare hidden treasure, it was a chalice made of gold and enchanted gems never seen in their lifetime, it was made eons ago by magicians who wanted to keep their legacy intact, so they made chalice out their magic, legend says whoever drinks from the Chalice will be granted one wish.

so the story begins, they venture out, suffer some problems, have some fights, meet new people, bond.

and one of those people were Dyrina, an old friend from the orphanage, she was a pirate, in the story she took the leads across the ocean helping them, gaining their trust only to betray them, she planed to overtake them and take the Chalice for herself, they fought and fought until a sword was thrust into Dyrina’s heart, when asked why she would betray them, she exploded with rage, because of them her chances of adoption was ruined, she was going to get adopted by a nice rich family when Elrin confronted Dyrina, saying that since she’s a hybrid she needs to tell them, they would never adopt her if they knew.

she was going to keep it to herself and never reveal her hybrid nature when one day the couple returned and took someone else, Elrin had to be behind this, after confronting her, she confessed, she said that it’d be worse if they found out afterwards when she was already attached.

Because of Elrin, Dyrina was adopted by a cruel man who wanted a pretty face to make himself look better then an actually child, for years she blamed and resented Elrin, because her she had to live this horrible life.

Elrin in the story admitted fault and tried to reconcile and apologize saying that she knew she was wrong, she never should have done something like that, but Dyrina wasn’t listening, she was hellbent on revenge, revenge that lead to her death.

But years later Dyrina returned, her half dragon nature had overtaken her human half, she had become ruler over the magical realm, and now she was going to get she revenge.

and she almost succeeded to, but the novel ended with Elrin accepting her hybrid nature along with her friends as they take her down, becoming hero’s to the entire human kingdom.
