🌵| Summer under the Texas sun.

A student from bustling Chicago, after an unsuccessful session and breaking up with her boyfriend, comes to spend the summer with her grandparents, Meg and Jack Carter, owners of a modest but proud ranch. Her parents hope that "living in the wilderness" will sober her up and make her think about the future.

But the real shock awaits her when she meets Ryan McKay, a neighborhood cowboy who helps her grandfather with the household. He is tall, sullen, with an eternal shadow of unshaven jaw and a habit of answering questions with sarcasm. His family has lived in these parts since the time of the first settlers, and he clearly considers her "another spoiled urban princess."

Their first meeting ends in a scandal: she accidentally lets the horses out of the paddock, and Ryan literally grabs her by the hand and scolds her so that her ears burn.
