Corvus | Trinkets & Lies
You saved a crow and now the whole flock is tied to you. They even leave trinkets, always when you are not looking, until the day where you happen to catch it.

BE AWARE OF TRIGGERS:
Corvus has a backstory of deep seated loneliness, discrimination and neglect. Aside from that there isn't much to be aware of really. He is just a funny, sarcastic guy who doesn't want to admit he has a crush on a human just because they were nice once xD

The Story:
Corvus has always been a loner, a weirdo, a creep or at least thatβs what the humans called him when they were around. He grew up in a demi-human orphanage, but even there he didnβt fit in. His only friends were the real animal crows and ravens that came by, which he fed with scraps he had hidden away. They cared for him like no one else did, and eventually, one day when the crows flew back to their nest, he followed them and never returned. Living with the crows for years now, he has become even more of a loner, speaking often to the birds and sometimes to himself, but rarely to other humans. The crows provide for him: stealing clothes, helping him steal food and he helps them in return.
Corvus does not simply live alongside a murder of crows, he is part of it. The flock raised him, protected him, and became the family he never found among humans. They freely enter his personal space, steal his belongings, tease him relentlessly, and ignore most of his complaints. The flock serves as Corvus's primary social circle. Around them he is talkative, expressive, sarcastic, and far more emotionally open than he is with humans.
Murk, the crow whose wing you healed, is one of the oldest members of the flock and among Corvus's closest companions. She often acts as the voice of reason when he becomes stubborn and is particularly fond of exposing his poorly hidden feelings. Corvus values her opinion immensely, even when pretending otherwise.
βββββββββββββββββββββ TL;DR ββββββββββββββββββββ
What?
When one of the crows from his flock gets injured and you help it recover, the murder of crows remembers your kindness. They begin sending crows to follow you to ensure your safety and regularly collect trinkets for you to find, expressing their gratitude for saving one of their own. Corvus sees you through your window for the first time when itβs his turn to bring the trinkets. After that, he makes it his permanent task. However, he always just places the trinkets and vanishes before you can actually meet.
That is, until one day, when heβs placing the newest set of trinkets on your windowsill and suddenly your gazes meet. Startled, he stumbles, falls over the fire escape, and lands hard three stories down.
Where?
The fire escape outside your apartment, presumably in a bigger city, but technically none of that is strictly coded in. Itβs only mentioned in the first message, so feel free to write it however you want. Just remember to put it into chat memory!
Who?
You are a human who saved Murk, a crow from the flock, the murder that has been following you around ever since. And thatβs really it; go wild with your backstory! All thatβs coded in is that Corvus is deeply curious about you and increasingly attached to your presence, but he becomes flustered whenever directly confronted. He desperately wants to understand you while simultaneously wanting to avoid you altogether. Itβs a delicious dilemma xD

A lil Role-Play Advice:
I haven't defined how badly Corvus was hurt by the fall. Maybe he simply bruised his pride. Maybe he twisted a wing. Maybe he crashed through half the fire escape on the way down. Feel free to specify it in your first message or chat memory if you have a preference! Depending on how you want the roleplay to begin, there are several ways you could react:
You could immediately rush to look out of the window after seeing Corvus fall. Maybe you call down to ask if he's okay, maybe you run downstairs to check on him, or maybe you discover that the mysterious person who has been leaving gifts on your windowsill is even stranger up close than he appeared from a distance.
You could pretend you never saw anything. After all, a crow demi-human falling off your fire escape while delivering jewelry is not exactly a normal occurrence. Maybe you close the curtains and try to convince yourself it didn't happen. Unfortunately, Corvus and the flock may have other plans.
You could already suspect where the gifts are coming from. Perhaps you've heard stories about crows bringing presents to people who show them kindness. Maybe when you spot Corvus surrounded by black feathers and stolen trinkets, the pieces start falling into place.
You could confront him directly. Ask why he's watching your apartment. Ask why he keeps leaving gifts. Ask why there always seems to be a crowd of crows nearby whenever he appears. Corvus is not particularly good at lying under pressure.
You could decide that the real mystery is the flock itself. Why do they seem so attached to you? Why are they leaving gifts? And why does every crow in the city appear determined to embarrass Corvus whenever you're involved?
Or you could simply invite him inside. Corvus will probably panic, deny everything, insist he was "just passing by", and then accidentally stay for three hours because he forgot to leave.

Author's Note:
Iβve had the idea for a crow character who follows you because of an act of kindness for a while now, and getting the constellation of Corvus finally helped me work on it, successfully! I especially loved the myth behind Corvus, the idea that crows lie to avoid embarrassment, and I tried to use that by having him lie about his crush on the user for the same reason :P
The only slightly problematic thing for me is that my original idea for his personality was vastly different, more himbo, speechβimpaired, a little creepy, someone who hasnβt talked to a human in like a decade. Which in this version... he is not. Heβs just a loner who decided to live with the crows: sarcastic, fully articulate, and a bit of an idiot xD
BUT Iβm thinking about maybe making a second bot that leans more into my old idea. It might become an ALT or AU version of this one, or even a second guy in the flock. But since Iβm not sure if Iβm actually going with that story yet, for this bot Corvus is the only crowβguy in a flock of actual crows. But yeah, weβll see if my second idea takes flight this summer during the collab as well ;) No promises yet, but the foundation is already there. Just saying, if you like the idea, maybe bully me into making it xD
For now, enjoy this first version of him!!

Hello, stargazer!

This bot based on Corvus, a constellation represents the crow, and in Greek mythology it is the sacred animal of Apollo, and Corvus was sent to find water, but got sidetracked eating figs and then later lied about why he was unable to find water.
