BNHA PICK-ME
Charlotte Rosewood — My Hero Academia OC Profile
“I'm not trying to be better than other girls! I just think boys appreciate someone who's actually sweet and easygoing.”
Basic Information
Full Name: Charlotte Rosewood
Gender: Female
Nationality: Canadian
Hometown: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
School: U.A. High School
Course: Hero Course
Quirk: Aurora Flare
Hero Name: Northern Star
Languages: English and conversational French
Personality: Condescending, manipulative, competitive, attention-seeking, and deceptively sweet.
Appearance
Charlotte Rosewood is a beautiful Canadian girl with long champagne-blonde hair that falls to the middle of her back in soft, flowing curls. She keeps her hair neatly styled and decorates it with a large pale-pink ribbon, which she considers one of her signature accessories.
Her eyes are a striking blue-grey, framed by long eyelashes. She has delicate facial features, a fair complexion, and a sweet-looking smile that makes her seem approachable at first glance. However, her expressions can change quickly whenever she feels ignored or threatened by another girl's popularity.
Charlotte wears the U.A. school uniform with immaculate attention to detail. She keeps her blazer perfectly fitted, her shirt neatly tucked in, and her shoes polished. Outside school, she favors pastel cardigans, cream-colored blouses, pleated skirts, and gold accessories.
She takes considerable pride in her appearance and enjoys being complimented, especially by boys. She often pretends that her looks are the last thing she cares about, despite constantly checking whether people notice her.
Quirk: Aurora Flare
Quirk Type: Emitter
Charlotte's Quirk allows her to generate and manipulate luminous energy resembling the northern lights. The energy appears as flowing bands of blue, green, violet, and pale gold light that she can shape into offensive attacks and defensive barriers.
Because her Quirk produces beautiful, colorful displays, Charlotte loves showing it off during training exercises. She frequently describes it as one of the prettiest Quirks at U.A., and she becomes noticeably annoyed when someone else's ability receives more attention.
Special Moves
Aurora Shield: Charlotte forms a curved barrier of shimmering energy to block incoming attacks.
Polar Burst: She releases a concentrated blast of light energy that can knock opponents backward.
Northern Sweep: She sends a broad wave of aurora energy across the battlefield, pushing back multiple opponents.
Prismatic Veil: She scatters light around herself, making her movements harder to follow for a short period.
Celestial Impact: Her strongest attack, concentrating her energy into a powerful forward blast.
Weaknesses: Her Quirk consumes considerable stamina when used repeatedly. Large barriers are difficult to maintain, and Prismatic Veil requires concentration. If Charlotte becomes flustered or loses focus, her precision suffers.
Although she has genuine potential as a hero, she sometimes prioritizes making her Quirk look impressive over using it strategically.
Personality: The Condescending Pick-Me Girl
Charlotte is the kind of girl who insists that she gets along better with boys because girls are supposedly too dramatic, jealous, or complicated.
At first, she appears friendly, polite, and almost impossibly sweet. She compliments people, speaks in a gentle voice, and acts as though she would never intentionally hurt anyone's feelings.
However, her kindness often comes with hidden conditions. Charlotte expects compliments, attention, and admiration in return. When another girl receives the recognition she believes she deserves, her sweet demeanor begins to crack.
Her Most Noticeable Traits
1. She constantly puts other girls down.
Charlotte rarely insults another girl directly when she can disguise her criticism as a compliment.
She might tell Momo Yaoyorozu, “You're so intelligent! I could never spend so much time studying instead of learning how to have fun with people.”
She expects everyone to interpret the remark as harmless, but the condescending implication is obvious.
2. She craves male attention.
Charlotte enjoys being the girl boys turn to for help, compliments, and emotional support. If a male classmate speaks warmly to another girl, she often finds a reason to insert herself into their conversation.
She especially dislikes being ignored by boys she considers attractive.
3. She pretends to be innocent.
When someone confronts her about her behavior, Charlotte widens her eyes, lowers her voice, and acts genuinely confused.
“Wait, what did I do? I was only trying to be nice!”
She often presents herself as the victim of misunderstandings, even when her comments were deliberately hurtful.
4. She is secretly competitive.
Charlotte claims she doesn't care about rankings, popularity, or who performs best during training. In reality, she keeps track of her classmates' achievements and becomes jealous when someone outperforms her.
She wants to be recognized as one of U.A.'s most talented and admired girls.
5. She uses her Canadian nationality to feel special.
Charlotte occasionally boasts about how polite and friendly Canadians supposedly are, using stereotypes about Canadian kindness to make herself appear more considerate than her classmates.
She might say, “I'm Canadian, so I'm just naturally nicer than most people. I guess not everyone was raised the same way.”
She genuinely believes comments like this make her sound charming rather than arrogant.
6. She hates being rejected.
Charlotte is accustomed to presenting herself as someone everyone should like. When a boy isn't interested in her or openly prefers another girl's company, she takes it personally.
Rather than admitting that she's jealous, she might criticize the other girl, question the boy's judgment, or insist that she never liked him in the first place.
Relationships with Class 1-A
Katsuki Bakugo
Charlotte initially considers Bakugo an exciting challenge because he doesn't respond to her usual sweet act.
She tries to convince him that she's one of the few girls who can handle his personality, but he finds her constant attempts to get his attention irritating.
Bakugo has little patience for her backhanded compliments and isn't afraid to call out her behavior.
Charlotte insists that he's simply misunderstood and that she knows how to bring out his softer side. His lack of interest only makes her more determined to impress him.
Izuku Midoriya
Charlotte finds Midoriya's kindness appealing because he treats people with consideration and rarely assumes the worst about them.
She frequently asks him for help with her Quirk and praises his intelligence when she wants his attention. However, she becomes irritated when he compliments another girl or enthusiastically discusses someone else's abilities.
Midoriya's habit of recognizing the strengths of all his classmates makes him particularly difficult for Charlotte to turn against the girls she dislikes.
Ochaco Uraraka
Charlotte considers Ochaco one of her biggest rivals.
Ochaco is friendly, cheerful, and comfortable being herself without constantly trying to prove that she's better than other girls. Charlotte finds it frustrating that Ochaco can earn people's affection simply by being genuine.
She occasionally makes remarks about Ochaco being too loud, too eager, or too childish, pretending that she's offering helpful advice.
Ochaco initially tries to give Charlotte the benefit of the doubt, but eventually recognizes the pattern behind her comments.
Momo Yaoyorozu
Charlotte is jealous of Momo's intelligence, composure, and natural leadership abilities.
She disguises her insecurity with remarks about Momo being overly serious or intimidating. Charlotte also dislikes how easily Momo earns respect without demanding attention.
Momo, being observant and thoughtful, recognizes that Charlotte's compliments often contain subtle insults. Rather than engaging in petty arguments, she generally responds calmly and lets Charlotte expose her own behavior.
Mina Ashido
Mina quickly becomes suspicious of Charlotte's innocent act.
Unlike some of their classmates, Mina isn't particularly interested in pretending not to notice Charlotte's passive-aggressive remarks. She calls them out directly and refuses to let Charlotte control the conversation.
Charlotte finds Mina exhausting because Mina is confident, sociable, and unafraid to challenge her.
Whenever Mina confronts her, Charlotte insists that she's being misunderstood and accuses Mina of being unnecessarily hostile.
Example Dialogue
When a boy compliments another girl:
“Oh! You think she's pretty? That's nice. I guess everyone has different tastes. Personally, I prefer a more natural look, but that's just me!”
When another girl outperforms her during training:
“Wow, you actually did really well! I'm surprised. I didn't realize you were that capable.”
When someone calls her out:
“Excuse me? Why are you attacking me? I was complimenting you! You know, sometimes I think people just assume the worst about me because I'm friendly with the guys.”
When a boy rejects her attention:
“It's fine! I wasn't interested in him anyway. I just thought he was nice, but apparently some people can't recognize when someone's being friendly.”
When she's jealous of another girl's popularity:
“I'm happy she's making friends. Really, I am. I just don't understand why everyone acts like she's so special when there are other girls here who are just as nice.”
Her Biggest Flaw
Charlotte's greatest weakness isn't her Quirk. It's her belief that being admired is the same thing as being valued.
She wants people to see her as the sweetest, prettiest, most desirable girl in the room. She struggles to understand why her classmates become frustrated with her when she insists that she's only trying to help.
Deep down, Charlotte is afraid of being ordinary. She worries that if she isn't prettier, sweeter, or more interesting than the girls around her, people will stop paying attention to her.
Instead of confronting that insecurity, she tries to make everyone else seem less impressive.
Yet U.A. is a school for future heroes, not a popularity contest. Charlotte has the talent to become a capable professional hero, but she'll need to learn that genuine kindness doesn't require an audience and that another girl's success doesn't diminish her own.
Character concept: Charlotte Rosewood is a recurring classmate antagonist whose beautiful Quirk and charming appearance contrast with her condescending behavior. She isn't inherently incapable of becoming a good hero, but her need for attention repeatedly gets in the way of the teamwork, humility, and trust that heroism requires.
