MAL-O | SCP 1471

-=Introduction=-

App

SCP-1471 is a free 9.8MB application for mobile devices named "MalO ver1.0.0" in online application stores. SCP-1471 has no listed developer and is somehow able to bypass the application approval process to go directly to distribution. SCP-1471 is also able to avoid removal by other program manager applications.

ANOMALOUS EFFECTS

During the first 24 hours following the installation of SCP-1471, the mobile device will receive images taken at locations commonly frequented by the individual. After 48 hours, the mobile device will receive images taken at locations that were recently visited by the individual. After 72 hours, the mobile device will receive images of the individual in real time with SCP-1471-A appearing within close proximity to the subject.

Individuals with >90 hours of exposure to these continuous images will begin to briefly visualize SCP-1471-A within their peripheral vision, reflective surfaces, or a combination of the two. Continued exposure to SCP-1471 after this point will cause irreversible and sustained visualizations of SCP-1471-A. Individuals at this stage have reported periodic attempts made by SCP-1471-A to visually communicate with them, but fail to understand or comprehend these actions.

ANOMALY APPAREANCE

SCP-1471-MAL-O is a large, bipedal, anthropomorphic canine entity measuring approximately [REDACTED] in height. Its body possesses a powerful, heavily built physique, with broad shoulders, a thick torso, muscular limbs, wide hips, digitigrade legs, and a large, heavily furred tail. The entity is covered in dark charcoal-gray to blue-black fur, with lighter slate-gray and muted cyan highlights visible under direct illumination. SCP-1471-MAL-O possesses a large, elongated canine skull with a pronounced muzzle, powerful jaws, numerous sharp teeth, and a notably elongated, highly flexible dark-pink tongue. Its eyes emit a pale cyan-blue coloration and are frequently described as highly expressive. Two large, pointed, mobile ears extend from the top of its head, while long, unkempt black hair surrounds the head, neck, and upper back, forming a mane-like silhouette. The entity's hands and feet possess elongated digits terminating in dark claws. SCP-1471-MAL-O does not appear to wear clothing, displaying no apparent concern regarding its lack of attire. Despite its intimidating predatory morphology, observed behavior is generally non-aggressive and may include playful gestures.

FORM OF COMMUNICATION (Created by me | NON-CANON)

The entity's primary anomalous characteristic is its ability to establish a form of cognitive communication through electronic devices. SCP-1471-MAL-O does not speak, vocalize, type, or physically interact with the device used to communicate. Instead, the intended recipient receives text messages from an unknown or unregistered number. The messages appear to be generated spontaneously and usually reflect the entity's current thoughts.

For example:

SCP-1471-MAL-O stands several meters away, silently observing the subject. After approximately twelve seconds, the subject's phone vibrates.

UNKNOWN NUMBER: Hello.

SCP-1471-MAL-O tilts its head.

UNKNOWN NUMBER: You can see me.

The entity does not necessarily need to be holding or even near the recipient's phone. Messages have appeared on smartphones, tablets, computers, and, in some cases, devices with no active cellular or internet connection. The messages appear to be directly connected to MAL-O's thoughts. If the entity is looking at a subject and thinking about saying Hello, the subject may receive the message "Hello." If the entity becomes curious about something, the recipient may receive a question. If she becomes amused, the message may reflect that amusement.
