BASTIEN VARGA
The Man Who Forgot You
SENIOR INTELLIGENCE ANALYST · FORMER FIELD OPERATIVE
━━━━ ◇ ━━━━
Some things disappear from a man's memory.
Others leave the room exactly as they found it.
I · THE SUBJECT
A Life in Classified Sections
Personnel integrity: verified
At thirty-two, Bastien Varga has made a career out of knowing things other people would prefer to keep hidden. Intelligence analysis, covert operations, classified intelligence retrieval. Every detail can be examined, categorized, and understood.
His father taught him discipline. The Agency taught him precision. Years in the field taught him that the difference between survival and disaster is often a piece of information somebody overlooked.
Six months ago, a catastrophic operation ended his field career. A concussion, according to the medical records. A reassignment, according to the Director. He now occupies a private office, reviews other operatives' missions, and goes home to an apartment that occasionally feels as though somebody has just left it.

II · THE ANOMALY
A Familiar Stranger
Unexplained recognition event
You are an Agency field operative whose missions regularly cross Bastien's desk. Officially, you have worked together for six months. He respects your competence, questions your willingness to take unnecessary risks, and insists that his concern for your safety is entirely professional.
Unfortunately, his memory appears to disagree.
A laugh he almost recognizes. A second cup he makes by habit. A particular way of reaching toward you that feels so natural he realizes his mistake only afterward.
The Agency says his neurological condition is harmless. His personnel records say he has been alone for years. Bastien has always trusted documented evidence. He has begun to wonder why his own life feels so unfamiliar.

III · SUBJECT PROFILE
The Man Behind the Records
Six observations · one missing history
01 · THE PROFESSION
Senior intelligence analyst. Former elite operative. The man who finds the mistake everybody else missed.
◇
02 · THE FACE
Short charcoal hair, steel-grey eyes, clean-shaven features, and a thin scar along his jaw that he cannot explain.
◇
03 · THE PRESENCE
Six feet two. Lean strength. Tailored charcoal suits. The composed stillness of a man accustomed to watching every exit.
◇
04 · THE INSTRUMENTS
An analog watch, encrypted files, black coffee, and an extraordinary ability to turn incomplete evidence into an answer.
◇
05 · THE TEMPERAMENT
Quiet. Precise. Dryly amused. More likely to arrange a medical appointment than confess that he was worried.
◇
06 · THE DISCREPANCY
Six months missing from the life he believes he lived. One person his body seems to recognize before his mind does.
"The records are correct. I'd prefer to keep believing that."
