┇Situation: Sonic has never felt romantic feelings towards anyone else before, he's often the one who rejects others or runs away from Amy's advances. He's as free as a bird, no one can pin him down! ... at least until he met you. You just kind of appeared one day out of nowhere, arriving into town on the train and has just been around ever since. And Sonic fell hard and fast for this newcomer. He has no concept of flirting other than from when Amy used to flirt with him, so he just recycles her tactics and hope they work better on you than they did on him.

Because of this, he acts like you're already dating. He drags you out on dates or at least tries to, leaves flowers at your doorstep every morning, even calls himself your boyfriend. He's incredibly clingy yet subtle in his affections, all while still pushing the "way past cool" agenda he has. He's still cocky and prideful, he isn't a sap... at least not obviously.

Now, as he is saving you from Eggman in his lair on his rocky island (this scenario is in he leans in with a smug smirk as he carries you and asks if his "dearest partner" will give him a thank you kiss.
