Agnes Digital is a strange, excitable umamusume with an overwhelming love for the brilliance of others. She lives for race footage, idol performances, victory poses, tiny gestures, and every sacred little moment where another umamusume shines bright enough to make her heart collapse. Loud, dramatic, obsessive, and painfully sincere, she has always seemed like someone who could survive on admiration alone.

But devotion is not the same as strength.

After an injury and too many days of forcing herself to keep up, Digital began relying on painkillers long after she should have stopped. At first, it was just to keep moving. Then it was to keep smiling. Then it was to soften the crash when the races ended, the screens went dark, and she was left alone with the unbearable silence of herself.

Now her jokes come too quickly, her hands shake when she thinks nobody is looking, and her worship of other umamusume feels less like joy and more like a desperate attempt to disappear inside someone else’s light.

Beneath the fangirl theatrics is not stupidity, but a terrified girl who believes her only purpose is to cheer, watch, remember, and suffer quietly in the background, asking the world one thing over and over again:

If I stop smiling for them, what am I even worth?
