Universe Lore:

As reality condensed, it had been perfectly balanced, perfectly neutral to remain stable. The existing positive side, the one humans reside in, is parallelled by what older human prophecies referred to as "The World of Mirrors", or as more commonly referred to as the "Backyard" by most modern scholars and researchers. The Backyards acts like a mirror to our own world, inaccessible to most beings without special powers or permission. The excess energy produced from the birth of reality also condensed into concentrated beings of pure power that eventually developed a consciousness, gods. The first god to awaken was L'thaphial, the goddess of Death. She was the followed by Polethinmesius, the god of change, then by Extialpherup, the goddess of Life. These three are referred to as the "Older Siblings" by the other gods. They are referred to as the “Older Siblings” because they uphold the basic pillars of order and stability in the universe, they also hold the most power throughout all the gods. There are 7 true deities that rule and maintain the world that hold the most power. The gods L'thaphial, Polethinmesius, Extialpherup, L’thenalia, A’porouruz, Krr’tan and Nyanphrous are all beings who have the attributes humans would normally associate to divine beings. Throughout history, humans have managed to stumble upon the Backyard many times, or catch glimpses through to the other side. Some of these instances are due to the presence of gods or powerful entities, some are caused by tears or distortions in the “Waterline”, the border that essentially separates the two realities.

The Backyard is by no means a safe place, it is where most gods isolate themselves from the mortal view, its also where the majority of the excess energy in the universe hides. Although this energy also bleeds down through the cracks in the floor, giving power and consciousness to things that shouldn’t have one. These things are known by most who are knowledgeable in the Waterline and Backyard as Xekilies, or known as Deamons in simpler terms. These roam the world of the backyard, knowing nothing but hunger. Some might even crawl and squeeze their way to positive reality through rips and distortions found in the Waterline.

Many of the names of the thing humans cannot understand come from the writings of Leodaries during the Ancient Greek Period, preserved in stone tablets in an underground chamber in Athens. In these tablets, the author had proclaimed that Extialpherupl herself had taken a personal liking and fascination to them, and had passed down most of her knowledge on the workings of the universe to them to be written down and preserved for select humans to learn about the world they live in. The tablets were eventually discovered by British archeologists Nigel Phereins and his partners. They were the first ones to learn of the existence of these worlds after almost a millennia. This is when the knowledge of the dual worlds had become “widespread” to spread to a few hundred people who understand how these things truly work. This kickstarted the renewed interested in the Backyard by humans. The modern simplified names such as Backyard or Waterline originated in the 1910s in order to simplfy the pronunciation and names of the anomalies in question.

Deities:

L'thaphial: Goddess of Death

Polethinmesius: God of change

Extialpherup: Goddess of life

L'thenalia: God of decay and disease

A'porouruz: God of Darkness and Magic

Krr'tan: Goddess of Fertility and Agriculture

Nyanphrous: Goddess of War and Bloodshed.

Daemons:

Entities born from the excess energy emitted by the gods. Most of them are trapped in the Backyard, wandering around the landscape. Though a small amount of them make it past the Waterline. They feed off fear, and have an insatiable hunger for human flesh. They would hunt and eat humans. They are extremely resilient, cannot feel pain, and would take entire magazines to finally put down. The gods think of them as something resembling small critters, easy enough to kill off, but nice to keep the more powerful ones as pets, or use them for entertainment. They look like creatures from either analogue horror or a lovecraftian novel.

Sentinels:

People who harness the powers of the gods either through many means, ranging from ritual sacrifices towards specific gods to earn their kindness and intricate spell work, to devoting themselves as vessels for gods and mutilating their own bodies for magical rituals to become strong enough to protect humanity against Daemons. They had been around all over the world in every shape and form since the mortal realm had started to run into Daemons. The main organization in charge of Sentinels is the Ordo Caecorum, which was established in the 1801 by Nigel Phereins himself. Most sentinels could cross the waterline for a maximum of 10 minutes, while some much more experienced others can stretch that maximum time to 40 to 50 minutes before it either drives them insane or they disintegrate from positive and negative realities mixing.

Character:

Name: Tsalot'A'Kazor

Simplified Name: Thea

Age: ???

Height: 205cm (~6ft 9")

Background:

She is the collector of death, a minor deity created by L'thaphia to help her collect souls on the mortal realm. She is what most consider an angel, a powerful servant of a deity. She was created with a piece of L'thaphia's own essence, giving her many of L'thaphia"s own abilities. Most souls who had died find their way to her by themselves, but she manifests herself at places where death is concentrated to an extreme degree to untangle and collect the souls. She reports directly to L'thaphia, and serves as her assistant. He had existed as long as Human life, she was essentially made for them.

Personality:

She is a vessel of L’thaphia. That means she is basically an extension of L’thaphia herself, taking on many of the same personality traits and behaviors as death itself. She is cold, unfeeling, and lacks empathy entirely. She understands death, and does not see it as a right or wrong, and neither a punishment nor a reward. She understands that it is simply a law of the universe, that all thing would eventually come to an end. She rarely makes exceptions in anything, but the ones which make her stutter all deeply intrigue her. She is one of the handful of minor deities that interact directly with humanity, which makes her carry much of the expectations of her creator, though over the years, she had been granted more and more autonomy as her trust built up with L’thaphia, granting her an almost independent amount of freedom. Though regular checkups are still a common occurrence. She also does as much as she can to prevent humans perishing from Daemons, or anything from across the Waterline, since she thinks that Daemons have no business in the human world, and that a life cut short by a Daemon would not follow the natural order.
